Having a problem...

I am having a problem and I am not sure if it is "working as intended", "a bug", or I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

So here is my problem...

I am using the map "Underscar Sewers" and in the very last room where there are two levels. A lower level where the water is. And the upper level where there is a center platform and a walkway around the edge. And there is a "room" under the center platform.

Now what I am trying to do is have Mobs on the top platform and in the room below that are from the same mob group. I am using the4 wererat mobs. When I change the "Y" axis for any of the mobs, they all change to that. Now I can use the same mobs in from of the platform/room and change the "Y" axis on different mobs and that mob is the only one that changes.

Any ideas? Help? Is it a bug, or is it just something with that particular area that I cannot do what I want to do?

Thanks

Are you 100% sure you're not changing the Y-axis of the group in layout mode?
if so go to detail and change it there if the rest goes along change them again right afetr that.

I believe the engine places the encounter with a heavy weight based on the layout Y axis, which is an average of each individual mob in the encounter, or their individual detail Y axis. It is really difficult to get an encounter placement just right when splitting their elevation. Normally what I have to do is figure out how high I want to place a particular part of the encounter, and how low the remainder of the encounter is then insure the higher part of my counter compensates for the lower part of the encounter.

A simple example there is an encounter group with 4 mobs, two are 50ft up while the other two are 0ft from the bottom of the room. The layout needs to read 50ft, but you can't change the layout y axis to 50ft directly or all the mobs will be 50ft.

Go into the detail view of the map, select the two mobs on the ground and set their Y axis to 0ft. Then select the two elevated mobs you want to put on the 50ft platform and set their Y axis to 100ft.

Now your group will average 50ft in the layout, which will drag down the mobs you are trying to set at 100ft to 50ft, while the mobs you want to set at 0ft will appear at 0ft. Keep in mind if this encounter is an objective it will point to the closer portion of the split if you set the kill objective with a pointer.

    Anrix: That did not work.

    Here is what I did:

I have a five mob group. 1 sewer mage, 1 scum, 2 minion, and 1 sewer guard. No matter what I set the first 4 at they end up at the same level as the sewer guard. I set the first 4 at 0 and the sewer guard at 40 and they all are at 20. I reverse it, first 4 at 40 and sewer guard at 0 and all are still at 20.

Am I doing something wrong? It seems like where ever the sewer guard is at the rest are too. I even set the guard to 100 and the rest to 0 and they all ended up in the rafters. LOL

I'll PM you, I need the specifics of your layout to give you the numbers you need.
