Let's make a list of small or bigger bugs affecting the GWF class. I dedicated this thread to PvE because bugs are easier to indentify in that context and we should also avoid the ranting of PvPers that keep saying "nerf GWF lololol"
So let me start a list that I'll update with each contribution :
- Some CC effects can go through Unstoppable.
E.g. : the Drow Priestess' root attack (Pain Web I think) will root you even during Unstoppable.
- Come and Get it is supposed to help a GWF position mobs at his convenience, but most of the time mobs will move back to their initial position after being pulled by Come and Get it, thus denying the usefulness of this skill.
- Sometimes it will be impossible to activate Unstoppable during a whole encounter. This bug seems to be linked to Destroyer's Purpose feat.
- Unstoppable bar will sometimes go down twice as fast. Both the lower and the upper bar will deplete at the same time, resulting in an very short Unstoppable.
Comments
I don't have Destroyer's Purpose or for that matter the Destroyer skill specced and still see this bug on occasion. Once it happened for the 2nd half of a round the other time it was the entire round and I never activated Unstoppable successfully.
This got me murdered at a very important moment during the fight with the last boss in Castle Never. Wasted time because of something that has been happening since frickin' Open Beta.
Also, it is the most uncertain daily for gwf. Half of the time it won't succeed at all, because enemy moves slightly. As a result it deals no damage but all the ap is gone. This applies to both pve and pvp. Is it meant to be a daily power that can be dodged so easily, or is it just bugged?
This happens when you get knocked prone (or similar) when the Unstoppable casting animation is casting, I believe. It's a very very old bug, much exploited by cheeseballs in PvP- where it can last the entire match.
I think it goes away if you are out of combat with no Determination, in PvE, but I can't be sure. It resets after a minute or two, in any case. Not ideal, as it gimps damage and survivability, though- if you're AoE tanking mobs for the group, it can cause a wipe.
If you actually want Crescendo, slot it as your second daily with Slam. That way, you won't feel quite so cheated when slam fails. Trading a bug for a bug seems fair, eh? (Cheeseball alert)
