It's taken me 4 days to get 2 blue dogs... and bags for me don't drop that often, and I'm on my 60 GF doing some decent damage.

Seems anytime one of the larger creatures drops everyone in the area gets credit (so either a chest or an enchantment). Around about 250 bones (and still no dog) I got tired of trying too hard and had already seen you can just stand still and get drops. So I went back to working on the paper I was putting off working on and only checked to loot periodically for a bit. About 100 more bones later doing this and still no dog. Fighting or standing still makes no difference to the RNG, it's still all just random. The only problem with standing still is you aren't contributing to clearing. The faster it's cleared the more respawns we seem to get, the more chances at large mobs that may (or may not) drop chests for you. So it's still in everyone's best interest to help clear.

(500 bones, still not a single blue dog drop)
I was totally joking with you! I hope that wasn't on my account, lol.
