After the patch, I looked at my build and decided that it was still perfectly viable and Ive been healing fine since. The only change is the way I play. I'll wait to cast Forgemasters Flame until after AShield has dissapated. Doing this ensures some healing during the time between AShields.
Other than that, it hasnt been bad at all, infact a smidge more thought goes into my playstyle rather than just spamming ashield.
My build is fairly cookie cutter i suppose. Stacking Recovery/Crit/Power in that order, however I suppose I can change that out to Power/Crit/Recovery now.
I haven't changed it at all, other than picking up a few ranks of a Power I was missing. Like you, I have the cookie cutter PvE dungeon build.
I know I can I can pick up more healing output by going temp HP + ASeal heavy + Power regearing, but that would mean sacrificing damage resistance, which I believe still has much more value in this game overall, and AP as well as being forced to always use certain class features like Healer's Lore and/or Divine Fortune due to lower Divinity.
I also just have no interest in turning my first class even further into a healbot for little gain.
About the only feat that looks interesting and I have not tried is speccing out of the now weak Ethereal Boon and into Linked Spirit. But I would rather wait until release. The amount of undue attention Linked Spirit is currently getting from some players, despite having always intended to work the way it does, is worrying. So, I'd rather wait.
I feel like the standard build still seems fine. This is what I used before the patch and a day or so after. Was perfectly viable:
Astral Seal / Brand of the Sun
Sun Burst / Astral Shield / Forgemaster's Flame
Hallowed Ground / whatever
Foresight / whatever
But it's fun to try something new, and with Linked Spirit now working as intended, it's a must in any build (15-25% stat bonus with 50-100% uptime depending on the situation is pretty swell). If you don't want to use a "healing" power, you can activate it by casting Sun Burst and then popping into divine mode before the animation stops. Besides, we should be a bit more focused on healing now that Astral Shield can't carry us through most situations.
I havent changed how I built my character. I dont use any guilds or cookie cutter builds. I build whatever I see fits for my character.
So its unlikely I'd change anytime soon, unless theres very drastic changes to skills and/or feats that affects thier function.
Ive tried this so called linked spirit build and although the healing is nice, the divinity gain is an insult so im back to critical build. Would be cool to put those 5 points in linked spirit without loosing too much elsewhere but seems like every point counts for crit build to work properly. So for now LS is a no go for me. And btw the stats buff is not even a gamebreaker and "cheating" divinity mode with sun burst for LS to proc is silly.
I was using unspecified's build pre-patch and post patch I stuck with it for some time. While the build still works, it's not nearly as effective as it used to be. After experimenting a bit I settled on a build that's similar to Elandra's, imo loading up on feats and abilities that grant damage reduction is the best way to deal with AS downtime.

Sun Burst / Astral Shield / Bastion of Health (Linked Spirit activator and "oh ****" button)
Hallowed Ground / Divine Armor ("oh ****" button)
