Hello everyone! This is my very first foundry, so I hope all goes well. Any and all feedback is welcomed, don't worry, I have thick internet-skin. If you find any bugs or any issues during my quest, please let me know so that they may be fixed immediately!Remember: Authors do not have access to loot tables.Status: Published under NW-DS35V5E5RThe Temple of the Sun: Is a quest that takes you to another realm, deep under Neverwinter, where you meet several new characters. It is a mix of action, adventure, romance, and plot twists. Do you enjoy hunting for secrets and easter eggs? Then you're in luck! I have hidden several secrets throughout my quest, which you must access through answering riddles correctly! But be careful, if you chose the wrong option, it may cause your riddle to disappear, as well as your chance at the secret item. And where do you use these secret items? Well that too, is a secret!
The story/lore of this quest is given to you throughout your gameplay. My main focus was immersion. I wanted the player, you, to feel as though you made a difference in the quest. In the world.
This quest should be attempted with no less than three to five players.
This is a challenging quest. Soloing this quest is not advisable.
Cheers to
@orodalf and
@slaughterthehero (before and after buffs) for soloing my quest. It is still not advised to solo, however, I will be adding a difficulty-scale, as per requested.

*new* -Overhaul: Added a "difficulty-slider" to the quest. Upon reaching certain dialog options, you will gain allies and remove enemies from your path (including traps). This was done because; it is simply impossible to remove some enemies from certain fights (ie: "boss" battles). Therefore, a single-player's quest has been buffed to a three-five player quest. You should be able to take on these fights with ease. However, none of the mobs were originally touched, so, if you wish to go through my quest without any aid, you are of course encouraged to do so.
- Fixed: Players reported NPCs in strange places (up trees); solution: removed some invisible walls.
- Fixed: Removed the ability for players to kite Corrupted Mina and bug her out on traps.
- Fixed: Dialog grammatical errors.
- Changed: Added barriers to the "Subdue Your Friends" fight.
- Changed: How the traps function during the encounters.
- Changed: The Ebonglade Mists map.
- Changed: The Shadow's dialog options. It now hurts to be wrong.
- Changed: Where the Wolf spawns in the outer Darkheart Realm (players were reporting issues with the wolf being stuck in the tree or various other locations that he was not supposed to be.)
*new*- Changed: Changed the lighting on the Pilgrim's Path map for a darker, more subtle ambiance.
*new*- Changed: Added an "Abort Exit" portal at the end of Spurt's initial welcoming text. This portal is not part of the quest.
- Buffed: Corrupted Mina fight.
- Buffed: "Subdue your Friends"
- Buffed: Last boss fight

Here's some of my answers to a few of the things you've said:
1. Consort with your friends dialog: If I knew how to revert the chat back to the previous lines without having to add a ton of dialog, I would. Since there's no simple "back" option.
2. The Darkheart Realm is supposed to be pitch-black. You aren't supposed to be able to see through it. You rely on your mini-map for my point locators.
3. The traps are, again, supposed to be annoying. They're there for a reason. And aren't you a rogue? Disable them, silly.
4. They're not all pre-made. I made the pilgrim's path map. The other ones suited my needs perfectly with what I wanted. So I saw no need to go about creating something I already had done for me. If the exterior and interior Darkheart maps were not as I wanted them, I would have made them from scratch. But, I didn't have to. In a way, I'm thankful for that. As it would have taken a significant amount of time to do so.
And, unfortunately, I cannot accept your "solo" inquiry, as you did not reach my specifications. I clearly stated:
I don't know that you didn't just have friends with you that left the party. That's why I specifically asked for screenshots at the end of each map with date and time. So I can see the time frame between the maps. But, I want to believe that you did. Simply because you died a lot, and I can see that. So what do we do? You could run it again, with full screenshots, or I could give you a smaller reward. Or we could let our peers decide. You can PM me and we can discuss this further, or you can respond here, it's up to you.
And as such, I will of course return the favor by reviewing your quest. And again, thank you.
In the Story page, drag the arrows flowing to "End Dialogue" back to the initial dialogue.
I understand that it's supposed to be dark, but this makes fighting things quite difficult. It's also quite difficult to find the teleporter to the castle in the dark.
You misunderstand me. When you stand on them, it's impossible to move off of them, and the constantly renewing damage makes disabling them an impossibility.
As a side, note they also make fighting off enemies easier.
Ugh, I didn't see the "end of each map" bit. Doesn't matter, I don't really need the reward. Just know that I did solo your map.
I believe the guy above did it. It just takes patience and timing. I'll give it a try on my rogue in the next few days. Been busy with the foundry and new cryptic content currently.
Every time they idiot-proof something...they make better idiots.
Unfortunately it doesn't let me drag that dialog. I'm assuming because there's not enough dialog there.
Absolutely what I was going for. It isn't supposed to be easy.
Yeah, I fixed that bit where you can no longer kite the mobs over the traps. I've disabled them during the encounters. And yes, I wanted them to be incredibly annoying.
Which is why I have made the previous buffs to my quest as I did. I do not want my quest to be solo-able. I've already had a close friend running my foundry. Also a TR. He's been giving me feedback on my quest's combat and I've been adjusting accordingly. The dialog changes were helpful, but combat feedback would have been even better. I'd like to speak with you about the reward bit further.
I'm pleased to know that you cannot finish it alone.
You should be able to. I don't know what to tell you if you can't. >.<
Note that you're supposed to be dragging the ARROWHEAD, not the dialogue box.
All right, then.
This isn't annoying, this is "I'm going to be evil and force you to spend 20 silver to kill yourself." >.<
What sort of combat feedback would you like?
The main thing I would tell you is this: it's not possible to make an un-soloable Foundry quest. Every Foundry quest is soloable. This is because the Foundry does not allow you to create bosses with tons of HP that you cannot kill in a big burst; with a large enough burst, you will be able to take out each of the bigger mobs one by one. It's just always extremely difficult, expensive, and annoying to do so.
I don't mind that challenge. I'll find a way to make my quest un-soloable. :P It'll just take my being clever.
Either way, I updated the changelog.

thanks
p.s. i will try to solo it just for the lols
NW-DKK8NIRO6
good idea mixing those healers in the boss encounters
Anyway, it looked pretty solid, but heres some of my comments
1) I got permatrapped at one of the traps that were placed adjacent to each other. So i had to restart the dungeon. Dunno if u can do anything about it, but i thought id let you know.
2) There was a mysterious stranger npc that was reading a book going like hmmmm... Dunno what that was about. Maybe i just didnt play far enough .
3) Difficulty slider. Being able to solo this would be awesome. I mean, I like the whole idea and concept but i cant do this on my own. I know you intended this quest to be a group quest but sometimes, for people like me, its just not ideal (timezone, work, them not being into foundry, etc.). With a difficulty slider, the soloers and groupers will both be happy. Just my thoughts.
Anyway, hope ive helped .
NW-DKK8NIRO6
For future reference, lumicakery, use /killme. It will kill you and put you at either the spawn point or the respawn point, whichever is unlocked/closer. /stuck might also work, but I haven't tried it.
Of course.
!
Yes, those traps are absolutely supposed to be teeth-grittingly annoying. I'm encouraging you to jump over them or jump-dodge. I've ran with a guardian fighter through my quest who simply jumps over them (we duo'ed it, I'm ashamed to say). Trust me, they can easily be avoided. I wouldn't just put something like that in that could not be avoided if properly executed.
Yes, the Mysterious Stranger is indeed deep within the story itself! You'll just have to get to the end to find out exactly how.
I wouldn't mind my story being solo-able. But being as this is my very first foundry, which I made at like level 30 something, I don't know how to do a difficulty slider. But I could re-publish a different version of Temple of the Sun, and have that as a solo-able quest. If someone could point me in the direction of how to create a difficulty-slider (unless you're talking about mobs spawning on a certain trigger via dialog, then there'd be issues, as I already have several triggers laid out in the questline), I'd greatly appreciate it.
And as always, thank you for taking the time to review and play my quest. Believe me, it's supposed to be challenging!
On a side note, maybe have the mysterious stranger have a dialogue? Maybe something like you ask her, who are you? Instead of just her standing there reading a book like she's a part of the background or something.
NW-DKK8NIRO6
Oh, you'll find out what her purpose is...
I am currently in the process of working on a difficulty-slider for this quest.
On several occasions it is simply impossible to remove mobs. So I am working around that.
That being said, I spent about 25 pots and 4 injury kits... all in Darkheart Castle... cuz my inner strength finally decided to get smug on me. Was like, get pulled by elite mob(s), fail at escaping its aoe (gwf sprint, those particular mobs are our greatest enemy), gets knocked down, gets hit by all manner of aoes available, dead (am lvl60). The worst part is that the encounter reset and all the weaker mobs you might have killed respawn and you literally have to start all over >.>. The good part is that you can aggro a few at a time (but only after you get killed cuz then you engage them from far away), and thats probably the reason I won. Specifically, Im talking about the fight with the fake Nurei in Darkheart Castle as well as after it, before you fight armored Nurei (Not that I didnt have trouble fighting him ). Another thing, I dont think the fight after fake nurei and before armored nurei is that important, I think youve teased us enough, bring on the real action .
Well anyway, that aside, here are some of my comments.
1) The Inner Strength. Well, he was invisible. I dont mind it when theyre following me, but I prefer for it to have a form when Im talking to it. Maybe a ghost wearing armor? Also, when they ask if you wanna meditate for the first time, maybe put an indication that when you answer yes, they will follow you? Something like Yes (Inner strength will follow you). Just was a bit confusing for me the first time, and it might for others too.
2) Details. Specifically, the temple and his castle. Unfortunately Im not that good with lighting or abstract design concepts. But the beginning was a temple, so maybe so holy idols/statues/altars, temply stuff. As well rubbles, fallen pillars, etc. For the castle, not too sure, maybe eerie lights and lanterns?
3) Mina's hair? Its all flying and everything even when she's mortal. Just kinda weird to me.
4) Talking to Shadow (riddle peoples) several times. Maybe make them go away after taking the items? Also, I didnt really find any use for the items they gave, or maybe I didnt notice it. If so, I think it should be made more noticeable?
5) At the second Shadow's riddle, one of the answers was simply 'E'. Think you might need to change it to 'The letter, E'.
6) Lucenda's ghost form looked way different than her normal form. Just sayin.
7) There was a Shadarkai Direhelm with one of the fights with Nurei. Think it was at part after the wolf guy.
8) There was a Guard (like a neverwinter guard) at one the fights with armored Nurei.
9) Nurei's harem. What, no manly demons things ?
Guessing that mysterious stranger reading the book and everything was supposed to you, huh ?
Anyway, hope my review helped .

1. I didn't want the "inner strength" to be seen. I wanted it to be a feeling as if you were "buffed" but not really noticed. In a way, you're not supposed to have anything following you. It's why I made them invisible. It's supposed to feel as if you are doing the damage, not some npcs.
2. The first map is a path that acolytes walk. It's not supposed to be a Temple. There's only so much I can do with the lighting, I mean the Temple itself is supposed to be ruined. It's thousands of years old.
3. Mina is a Novice Wizard. She explains that in her dialog.
4. I can't make him disappear after you take the item, unfortunately. Multiple dialog options don't seem to work when forcing an npc to disappear. Also, yep, those items are used for an easter egg at the end of the story.
5. I didn't want it to be too obvious.
6. That's the idea.
7. Thanks, I'll look into it. Ever since the foundry editor locked up I've had a difficult time previewing things and saving anything. So hopefully I can fix stuff now and it'll save.
8. Alright, thanks. There shouldn't have been, but I must have missed a Defender skin.
9. Nurei isn't homosexual. :P He doesn't have men in his harem.
Also, the fight after fake Nurie but before armored Nurei. Like I mentioned before, I didnt really like that part. Cuz you can see your allies past them, and then theyre just sitting there not helping you when you are obviously getting owned . Plus its hard, and takes a while to walk all the way back there.
NW-DKK8NIRO6
Are you talking about Nurei's demonic form? You can't really see your friends from where I placed him. Unless you go ahead without speaking with him.
