Hi, anyone know how much time you get banned from spamming?
please don't get me wrong, I'm a lonely player since a month a go, looking for a guild, but the mods of guilds dont answer me so I tried on Zone chat, the problem is: Zone chat is a chaos, a mess, almost useleess due to large amount of messages at same time. I tried spamming but got banned, so I'm here asking if anyone knows howmuch time I will get banned from any chat communication( yeah I cant even PM my friends )

?

thanks

Fairly sure its 24 hours if it was the auto ban from being reported by players.

Umm, so you didn't get the message, in bright yellow text, no less. Telling you EXACTLY how much time you were muted for, down to the second. A message that pops up each time you try to talk.

    Perhaps i'm missing something here.

If players report you for spamming you will be muted for 24 Hours.

And that is the purest system to promote griefing ever invented.

Lets say someone left a guild some members are upset and every time they see that person in chat they report him.....
Hmmm now he gets banned for no reason by hater ealitist jerk griefers.
No one should ever be banned with out mode intervention confirming chat logs and that it was actual spam.

No do not try the Gold bot spammer BS Line.
Once reported they are auto ignored problem solved for the people reporting.
Let a mod then check the logs and hand out the appropriate ban/punishment.

Cryptic has simply taken the lazy way and designed into thier system a griefer friendly enviornment.

Live moderation of chat 24/7 is not a possibility. Sorry Nick.

In an ideal world it could work like that but it's not a practical solution.

Whatever gets changed it won't be live moderation. No MMO does that and for a very obvious reasons. Call it lazy if you wish but it doesn't happen anywhere else, guaranteed.
They could have player moderators but that's a whole different set of problems to contend with. Or the response time could get reduced back to within a day (and it will likely happen in time) and then the issue of long term mutes gets reduced.

But hiring staff members to read every line of chat or validate every single report in live time and only acting based on live responses is not economically possible or even practical from a functionality standpoint.

Live moderation of chat 24/7 is not a possibility. Sorry Nick.

Where did I suggest live moderation of chat?

    I never did.
I said the mods must give out bans not some griefer centric fail system like currently exists.
As soon as I report someone for spam they go on ignore.
A list of those reports go to a mod or 2 or whatever.
If there is a name with say 20 or more reports the mods look at the chat logs.
If the reports all come from a single source guild group then it can be left as just that person on ignore.
If they come from differant peiople the mod checks to see frequency of posts and decides if what was said was spam.
If the mod feels that a ban is appropriate he sends a notice and puts the appropriate ban in place.
This avoids the built in griefing and abuse that exists in the current system.
I can tell you other MMOs do it this way and even some much smaller the Cryptic/PW.

Aain in response to all the live mumbo jumbo you attribute to what I said I never suggeted any such thing.
Only that when the number of reports reaches a level of possible ban that a mod must intervene and confirm it is a bannable offence.
Doing anything less is lazy and a disservice to the playerbase that will result in some/many that will fell they were abused/griefed and as a result move on to the next new shiny MMO with a better system.

Even Turbine backwards as they are has eliminated the forum repuation system as it leads to abuse and griefing.

Edit oh and your wrong there are MMOs with live moderation not 24/7 but live in game doing things to help the players they are called GM's.
