I've been using Iceshard dagger w/ 12% vorpal and just picked up Murderous Jester's Long Dagger.
They're really very similar, but I'd essentially be trading 225 ArPen for 9 Wpn dmg and 8 power.
I'm currently running 4/4 Shadewalker and with the proc my arpen is right at 22%. I also have the stone, and he's almost lvl 25 so I could recoup some of the lost arpen in the icon slot. But eventually I hope to get 4/4 swash, which doesn't have the arpen proc.
So all that to say, is 225 ArPen (when still below 22%) more dps than 9 weapon damage + 8 power?
22% is not the Armor Penetration cap, it's 24%, but that's only for bosses. On bosses your Armor Penetration will add more damage. On trash the armor varies from 12.8% to 22%, so on most trash the Armor Penetration wont be doing anything and the weapon damage wins.
Overall...I doubt you'll notice a difference either way.

Where did you get 22% from? A guy tested one elite mob once and posted his result, that's where. Sorry that 22% really bugs me, people quote it over and over.

So it's 225 ArP vs 234 Power.
It's not even a contest.

where do you get these numbers from?
I wasn't satisfied with that and tested a series of Tier 1 and Tier 2 dungeons then went through the logs.
