In the upper right of your screen, near the mini-map, is a little icon of a sun. It's usually grey and has a countdown timer on it, but when it's ready, it'll make a sound and turn yellow/gold if you are in range of a campfire or altar. When that happens, hit ctrl+i and you will invoke the gods. This will begin another 1 hour countdown timer, which must expire before you can invoke again.

    Some additional notes:

    - From my personal experience, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd invocations of the day grant the best rewards - XP, astral diamonds, and a buff of some sort, plus some other random stuff, (like a potion, portable altar consumable item, etc). After that, it's usually just a temporary buff.

    - At level 60, the XP granted is pretty significant, so consider switching out a companion that could use it, before invoking, (if you have one).

    - Most of the buffs only last 15 minutes or so, so if you are running dungeons and the like, consider holding off on invoking until you are at the start of one.

    - If you have a lot of characters, I find it best to park them either near the woman that teaches you how to invoke, (since she's got a large altar by her), or near the postal courier/auction house, as many people visit there and there's usually a portable altar dropped by someone.
