The title... just wondering. Every guide/thread I've seen touts Scoundrel or Executioner in both PVE and PVP. There seems to be nobody who plays Saboteurs. Has anybody tried them out? They seem like they would do well in a solo rogue setting where there is not an enormous emphasis on max damage, but rather battlefield control and stealth maintenance. I'll admit that the capstone for the path seems "meh", as you can get ArPen from gear... but the rest of the path seems pretty good on paper at least.
* 20% more AP while stealthed
* Gloaming Cut gives 10% stealth meter per hit
* +10% Run speed +5% damage reduction on targets hit while stealthed
* Flat +10% damage for everything while stealthed
* Your crits cause 10% slow, while giving you a 10% speed boost
* Bait and switch dummy lasts longer (+10% health), has 5% damage reflection
* Stamina pool increased by 10%, 20% when stealthed
So no big damage increasers... just a feat to raise it 10% when in stealth. I get it... the other paths have so much more damage potential.

I tried using this feat tree, to no avail. My damage output was so weak that I had to respect after hitting 50. I'm still very much stealth-based, but I went the Scoundrel route with a dip into Saboteur's for 1) increased AP and 2) more efficient dodging. To my pleasant surprise my damage increased and my ability to stay stealthy was not significantly reduced. My ability to survive is awesome and I pride myself on greatly annoying other classes and holding points while remaining hidden.

Yes and we shall see how long your semi perm-stealth stays away from the nerf bat. I can promise you noone likes to be killed without having any chance of killing you and when people complain companies listen.

Clearly, you don't know how to fight stealth-rogues. It's not hard. You just have to have the right strategy.
I think the sab tree's only real niche is, maybe, in a premade pvp team.
Basically, be a debuffing support class. Paired with a tank,a gwf, or another tr, i could see their slows and debuffs being pretty powerful (especially vs cws and dcs).
But besides that one possible instance the tree is useless, imo.
I would say its a more acrobatic/mobility oriented path than dps if you are in situation where you need to heavily dodge, get A to B undetected and really quick, then that the path you need.
Other hand the DPS is weak, in dungeon I'm usually just before the cleric on the board, the cap skill of the path is basically garbage(30% more of your ArPen stat if you land a killing blow...for 6 sec....they could have find a better proc condition)
Awesome guys, thanks for stopping in to say hi! I was beginning to think that Sabs did not exist LOL
If I could ask y'all a couple of things about how your experience has been, it would really help me out here. I'm trying to find a viable build type for Sabs where they are not merely passing fair, but excel more than the other paths. So far what I've got from my guesswork is that you can probably outrun a horse while in stealth, you stay in stealth longer/more easily, and while your damage is not skyrocketing above everyone else, it is enough to get the job done. Does this sound about right?
Also, did you guys build for STR, DEX, CHA? I'm assuming that you took the 10% damage feat near the end of the tree, but do you also use gloaming cut for stealth extension? My experience so far with gloaming is that it is awesome, despite what other people have posted here in the Den in other threads.

Please elucidate a bit for me!
