Since the Foundry is down I wanted to share that I'm about half way through with my first Foundry - The Key Collector. It's inspired from the Thief games as I loved playing them when ever I was able to get the hubby off the computer. It's rogue focused but I'm putting stuff in for the other classes.
This one is all in Neverwinter and I changed the look of a couple of maps to give it that back alley feel. I'm really excited about this and can't wait to share it with everyone.
Since we really don't have a lot of space in the description boxes of the quests here's the long story intro:
**************************
“My fence, Brokki, was visited by a Halfling named Tumblebelly, who claimed to represent an eccentric ‘key collector’, who wishes to remain anonymous.
Apparently, this unknown benefactor prides himself in his collection of rare and unusual keys, and there are three in particular that he wishes to add to his collection.
I'm generally wary of taking jobs where I don't know the employer, and Brokki knows this, but Tumblebelly managed to gain his attention with a generous up-front payment if accepted – and Brokki was all to giving with my acceptance of the job.
But I don’t really have much of a choice; the rent is due, and Madame Rosene is beginning to ask that I clear my tab. I haven't had many opportunities lately and I need the coin.
The job smells of a political game since it involves Red Wizards and I do not like to meddle in the affairs of wizards, which makes me wary of the whole thing, but Brokki is continually reminding me of the payment – helping me to keep my mind on the task.
The three keys are bound with elemental magic and each key is in the possession of a Red Wizard. Brokki pressed Tumbleberry for more information regarding ‘this’ magic but wasn’t able to get anything else about it.
Part of the generous payment, I’m assuming, is due to the fact that Tumblebelly doesn’t know which three wizards is in possession of a key; however, he did tell Brokki where I could find out. There is a mansion belonging to a certain Lord Leighton, who is also a Red Wizard. Tumblebelly is certain that he has a map showing the locations of the three keys. I simply need to break in, find the map, and make a copy of it so not to alert anyone or the wizards of my presence.
Leighton Manor is a fairly large mansion off of Bramerton Square – a very posh area of Neverwinter and undoubtedly being patrolled by the guards that are paid by those who live there.
Lord Leighton is supposed to be out tonight and Brokki has been given a master key and a map of Leighton Manor. All I need to do is see Brokki and get the ball rolling…”
