I see your Knight Online and Tera and raise you a WoW, you know, a very successful MMO in its own right. Get this, its heavy BoP (last I played it anyway) and is doing just fine.
Tired of the whine posts claiming the game is dead if it goes BoP heavy on loot.
Maybe you don't realize where the bulk of Neverwinter's players are from, then. If we need to do this RNG/BOP, no money in end game for the best enchants unless you have money -grind, all over again..
Then we will probably see people go BACK to wow.
Sister Vanity knows if you've been naughty or nice...and heals accordingly.
Then you don't get the stuff. Works like this in any other mmo, everyone was surprised its different here.
Lol. Only wow-clones.
Just some random games from my head - Lineage II, Raganarok Online, Guild Wars II, Eve, Ultima Online, Darkfall (if I'm not mistaken).
My mates just told me about devs' plans of making items bop - it may be a death sentence to the game. I never told about any problems of this game like that, but with this AH will simply be uselss, game's economy will be completely dead as there will be nothing to sell.
Plus, with present system I can farm something others don't want/can't farm and then sell items for some nice prices, but with BoP if I'll want to get some set piece I'll be forced to go to the same dungeon over and over again, which is frustrating and I had enough of this experience on other WoW-like games.
Shortly - no BoE - nothing to buy, nothing to sell = no reason to buy zen, monotonically doing same dungeons (which you probably don't want, but forced to do, unlike now) over and over again.
Vindictus, GW2, WildStar, Aion, Tera, GW, LC, PWI, RC2, etc.
All of those games, practically nothing binds on pick up from dungeons.
So what the **** is happening here, lol.
Oh wait, devs too lazy to fix the glitches within dungeons, so they take an easier rout out.
The last time I played Aion ,when it wasn't free to play the high end gear was BoP but crafted items were actually pretty usefull compared to what we have here ofc . Mind you I don't think BoP gear will be a good thing for Neverwinter by any stretch of the imagination .
The same was the case in Guild Wars, as well. All drops were boe, and a lot didn't even bind after using them. Aside from armor, that is. You could use a weapon indefinitely, sell it, buy another. It only bound if you wanted to do a slight amount of additional damage with it.
Which GW ? 1 or 2 ? Well in the case with GW1 all the gear are crafted so there's no real reason for BoE. Plus it's not a gear based game. GW2 it has a BoE and BoP system.

What about us people who hate PvE? I bet we are the ones wtih money, buying Zen. You make stuff BoP, and I bet you lose a ton of income. (my estimate is over 67%)
All I do is PvP a hour or 3 a day. It was nice to buy gear, and do what I wanted. I would start looking for the pieces I wanted at level 10 and bid up to 20K on items, and have a decent set with a few PvP items mixed in there as well. got 3 toons done, but looks like I won't be able to do the 4th. I will not purchase anymore Zen for me, or my 3 kids until you retract your BoP statement.
Kind regards,

What about us people who hate the ego, epeen driven PvP? I bet we are the ones with money also, buying Zen. You make stuff BoP (especially for NEED rolled items), and I bet you make alot of income. (my estimate is just that, an estimate).
All I do is PvE 2-3 every day. It was nice to buy gear, and do what I wanted but at the same time be rewarded for my time. I would start earning gear at lvl 1 from quest on 3 characters. I will continue to purchase more Zen for me (currently running nearly 100$ just on ZEN purchases not counting Guardian pack).
Kind regards,

And thus, that was part of this games initial success.
If they want longevity, then they best not follow in the path of elitism, less this game become one that people won't remember, either.
I dont feel like running them all day to get gear to do pvp and foundry quests.
And pwe will loose money because off this.
Now people spend ad on gear.
With bop they save their ad and buy mounts/pets etc.

This is the worst idea of all.
