Whatever happened to the Mask!?

So, I've been around the Mask for quite some time now, on and off, and all I've found are people with stupid names and histories (the one that comes to mind is "I'm a wizard duhhhhh"). Nobody, or close to nobody, talks IC, and hardly any people talk at all. What on Toril happened?
