Change it to BOP and you WOULD kill any replay value.
Why on in the hell would I want to run a dungeon for a chance at 3 gold?
Many runs NOTHING for a specific class drops.
On the runs that I DO get drops I **** well will roll need provided there is not another same class in the group.
Back under your rocks.
The only reason someone would not support Need rolls making items BOP is pure greed. If you want to sell it you roll greed where everyone has the same chance. If you want to use it then it's going to become BOP anyway.

Sorry you don't understand that everyone gets equal loot if they roll need on class items.
Once you have your gear now, there's no reason to go back to a dungeon because you cant roll need to sell. In a game where almost everything is sellable on the auction house and everything cost very high amounts of ad, you have to be able to need on everything or else why do dungeons anymore?
Narb, roll greed & don't be an HAMSTER.
Anyone who is complaining about being unable to "Need" a GWF or Guardian gear piece while playing a Rogue... You are the reason why this was changed. The only "Negative" thing, note the quotes, I could see here is a person given priority to "Greed" their class based gear - and I have no problem with that. That is a 1 in 5 chance of having it drop in the first place - I won't care if a Rogue needs on a dagger he already has - I don't care because I am not a rogue.
Now, the one positive thing I have seen from this discussion is the idea of "Greed" makes it bind on equip, "Need" makes it bind on pickup. That is a very good, very simple, and easily addresses the concerns of the super greedy people complaining they want to be able to need everything to slap things on the AH...
But in all honesty, if you ever do complain about me needing on my class based gear, whether to sell or to use, I would kick you in a second.

So the entire point of the system is working as intended? No more ninja looters on T2 armors/weapons? How amazing! Now if you are greedy ******* you NEED to GREED! Successful patch is successful, if you think otherwise then you are one sorry instant gratification brat and a-hole ninja looter who doesn't deserve group spot anyway.
I kind of agree with the OP. If you are running a pug group there is nothing stopping the jerks from rolling uncontested need for items of their class even if they don't need it. They should have made need rolls BOP. Would have made the loot system much better than it is now.
So what? He can roll need on his own class items and sell those. It evens out in the wash. Let's use logic here. If everyone rolls need on an item, there is a 1 out of 5 chance of getting the item. If you are the only one of your class in a party, there is a 1 in 5 chance the item that drops will be for your class and you can need on it if you so choose and sell it, and you will get it because it is for your class. Notice it is the same math? 1 of 5?
Often there is not a full set of classes in a group anyway, so everyone rolls greed on those so you have an even chance of getting those too.
What this does is allow everyone a fair chance of gearing up. It was a great change and a necessary one.

Wrong , you can still sell your class specific gear on the Auction House .
Replay value hasn't been killed if you play the game for fun. If you only play because of the loot, that's not an issue that can be solved by recoding the game.

Upcoming new patch: More gears are now bind on pickup. And the only way to get rid of them is by salvaging the gears for AD at the salvage npc. Thoughts?

even under the new rules you have an equal chance for your class gear to drop so you can need it as the other class do.
so now you have a 20% chance for your class item to drop with a basically uncontested need roll.
before you had a contested need roll so you had a 20% chance to win.
i know high school level math is hard and all, but seriously, this thread is an indictment of the education system.
