Fact, there are still lots of groups doing end-game content and finishing them consistently. And many of them run only a single cleric.
What the patch merely did was make end-game content more exclusive. You want to do better? Be better. And learn to work with a good team, PUGS will always be just PUGS and this is a game where coordination/communication is extremely important. After all, we are talking about end-game content here are we not?
In other news, low-mid level clerics are actually in a much better place than they were pre-patch. Now the main reason why half the adds in the dungeon are chasing you is because the tank/off-tank/control is not doing their job properly. As long as you do your job (pre-50 this means spamming Astral Seal/Sunburst then Astral Seal or Sunburst/Forgemaster's Flame) you are no longer to be held accountable for a wipe... unless you step on a red circle and die. 90% of the time a wipe is someone else's fault now.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.
Ranking up AS wasn't intended to lower the cooldown. It was broken.
Do you really believe this? Do you really believe AS was not supposed to increase in time with increasing ranks? How come it did, then, for a long time, with no comment on it? Did the time increase just sneak in by accident, a typo or something? It obviously was an intended functionality. I won't take the tooltip as an indication, since we all know how terrible tooltips in this game are.
Calling the AS nerf a "fix" is just PR. They don't want the wider playerbase to realize they nerfed the only viable skill of an already fairly one-dimensional class. It's the same with the sticky post that supposedly "explains" the reasoning behind the "fix". Just read it: "We've received a lot of positive feedback about the changes to Astral Shield, and it seems that many Clerics are enjoying all the other buffs and fixes." Is this the truth? Heck no, it's not. However, people that do not frequent the forums frequently will probably read this post first (sticky + PW icon), think their opinions are not warranted and shut up about their discontent.

that wasn't broken, it allowed clerics to use divinity on stuff other than AS as well as to be able to have divinity in PvP ... might not have been their original intention, but it was very playable and I'd even say necessary

the cleric received no buffs... and the fix to take the mobs off of the cleric by nerfing the cleric and making clerics less needed by bolstering the defenses and self-healing capabilities of the fighters was an absolute insult to the cleric

Pre-50 you don't need cleric to do anything. You have plenty of free pots from drops.
Or better, stop/reduce the the ultimate dungeon Boss skill: Infinite MOB Spam. I don't think clerics will have much trouble after that. Heck, anyone for that matter.
