Voice chat garbled and squeals.

On the party chat all me and my girlfriend hear on our laptops is garbled noises and squeals, our voice chatting works fine with other games while using Vent and Mumble. Anyone else seeming to have a problem, and any fixes that anyone has tried? I figure the people in our party tonight must've been using theirs just fine since they were chatting away with the garbled noises.

Are you using the laptops built in Mics ?

No I have a Cyber Snipa gaming headset, although I did try the laptop's mic on both laptops too at one point just to eliminate the possibility of my Mic on the Snipa being messed up. Also played a few other games since my original post and used Mumble and Vent, all seems well there.
