Charisma doesn't increase companion stats as stated

I have an Ioun stone of Allure and I decided to go full CHA instead of STR on this respec as a rogue thinking the companion stat bonuses would work... but they don't. My pet received 0 extra stats. Likewise I received 0 extra stats. Kinda defeats the point of getting charisma over strength now...
