Problem With the Launcher

I saw the sticky on this but that didn't seem to be related to this new issue.
Earlier I did the 1.6 gig patch and played for a while, no problems. A few minutes ago I tried to play the game, and the launcher app runs, but the window never appears. This is problematic since I can't play the game.
Is anyone else having this issue? Has anyone found a solution/workaround?
Edit: Found the bug forum, found a workaround there. Thread is probably unnecessary now. Sorry. Please remove it.
