GF, help me build/understand threat for party tank

So decided to rebuild my GF Tank after writing/reading some post finding out that 1/ dwarf traits are useless, and 2/ i wont pay real cash to respec my GF, which is only lvl 28 so not a big issue time wise.

play with a group of friends and i want to build a PvE party Tank, don't care about PvP.

read up on threat and have a general understanding enemies attach highest damage or highest indirect healing such as cleric

so my questions is

1/ how is threat calculated as a number. i see the feat like potent challenge add 5/10/15% threat but how does that relate to paper.
ex/ if i do 100 dmg, and a trickster does 110% dmg, trickster outranks me for threat, so how does 15% more threat change the tide or calculate in.

2/ what attributes in gear should i look for? i am assuming

- power
- armor penetration
- critical strikes

3/ does health regen/life leach affect threat, such as the cleric indirect healing?

4/ enchanted mark? says stricking that include when im in guard mode hitting them with my shield to keep my shield meter up

5/ enchanted mark 33/33/33 vs combat superiority 10% dmg. i dont know how mark % equates if im doing less damage then other classes. any chance that combat superiority would generate more treat at rank 3 where i get 15seconds of 10% to all my attacks

6/ doing damage to generate threat stack.
ex/ i do 100/110/120/100 for total 430dmg vs trickster 110/110/100/100 total of 420dmg

i think thats all i have for now, sorry if this posting is repetitive, couldnt really find definitive answers. i sure ill come across some more questions, but any help to my questions would be appreciated, thanks.

    side note. read a posting about regen/life steal GF build is it worth getting those would it decrease my chance of gaining threat drastically

    i like the idea of being in guard mode while i continously regen health, while at the same time im bashing with my shield building up my guard meter and getting life leach.

    any thoughts on this

    my thoughts on gear was

    - regen
    - either power/armor penetration
    - defense
    - open slot (dark enchantment for life leach)

    Just a heads up regen scales with the % of health you have lost. If it say you have 10% health regen what that means is that below 50% health you would regen 10% of your maximum HP on the first tick. Then as you gain HP it would progressively get worse. So that at 90% of your max HP you would only gain 1% of your max HP that tick.

    You need lots of it to make it worth while and even then it's not worth while just use a pot for instant health. Also you would be sacrificing other more useful stats to get it.

    I myself have gone life leech and to be honest I don't notice a difference. Will need to do some more testing now that the patch is out.
