Any rogues use the Acolyte of Kelemvor companion?

I'm considering getting her for my son's character (a level 46 rogue). I main a level 60 cleric and we will eventually run together, but in the meantime his regular cleric disciple is now close to useless, as she dies in almost every fight. I hope that Cryptic eventually buffs ALL of the companions because they definitely need it, but for now...just wondering if the Acolyte might be decent for a rogue since they are such a high-damage class. It seems they would benefit from the lifesteal buff, and his cleric disciple contributes almost nothing now at the higher levels. (This is primarily for solo questing and Foundry runs, not dungeons.)

Thank you in advance for any assistance and sorry about your impending nerfs. :) As well as mine!

All companions that can be targeted will die quickly, it's the same with the acolyte. That's one of the reasons why people prefer augment pets (cat, Ioun Stone) at end-game, since they can't be attacked.

cleric is the best choice of an "active" pet: its job is to heal you between fights like a portable campfire. IN combat, you use potions like anyone else. Also healing aggro = CA until she dies (which is sometimes not very long!). You can revive her in some boss fights solo, to get a heal before she dies again, if it is taking a long time (some do at higher levels).

The cat/stones are much better an if spending money you should go there instead.

The AOK is NOT a healer. It buffs you so you take less damage, but its not a replacement/better cleric in spite of the clerical sounding title! Do not be fooled into thinking its a healer. The other healer is the angel, I think, a purple quality pet from daily prayer if memory serves?

yes, one that takes 360 ardent coins LOL. Which means you have to play for a year before getting it.

Even then, stone or cat for end game is the way to go. Companions AI is too stupid to be effective, especially in end game fights.

With a reasonable amount lifesteal in your gear and the damage mitigation she can give, my rogue seemed a lot more survivable. She died a lot less than the Rank 15 companions.

Thank you Creezyjeezy for actually answering my original question. :) I appreciate the help.

I can see it working very well off lifesteal but stand by the stat pets as better for soloing. That is, a stat pet giving you 100% of a bunch of deflection and lifesteal > the AOK defense buff, at a glance. I could be wrong!! And you can swap out the stat pet's bling for a different setup. ????? Not 100% sure, though.

I wasn't trying to not answer your question, I am just saying if you are going to get a Zen market pet, get an Ioun Stone of Allure.

Trust me, you will thank me later for not wasting your money. Especially when you are looking for end game content groups.

He did say in his OP that it was for solo questing and Foundry runs, not endgame group content ...
