I actually think the DC is one of the most interesting classes Ive played in any MMO. I like the DMG converted to healing aspect and making decisions when to use dmode for XYZ skill.
Lol wow, this is proof many of you barely have played any games.
These mechanics aren't new.... at all, I've seen much better.
Personally I was banking on this patch to make cleric more fun and interesting to play, and give us more customization. Unfortunately we still only have 1 encounter slot to pick from and only 1 feat build still.
I'm going back to Rift where Healing actually requires some brain power, enjoy guys.
I honestly don't know why everyone thinks Healing Word is so bad. I honestly feel like it heals for so much.
When someone gets chunked I usually hit them with a normal Healing Word, then a Divine Healing Word and if I have to after that channel soothing light to them. This usually results in their health bar rapidly returning to full....unless of course they are those real special individuals that stand in life draining circles.
Idk..maybe I'm just bad for using this build and keeping all my party members alive all the time. Maybe their is some other awesome combo of skills to use...
Yeah but then you've used 2 charges of HW, and probably 2 pips of DP (because soothing light eats it like crazy) and you've been focusing on one dude for like, 5 seconds. I mean, it's great that you have a group that is coordinated enough to allow you that focus, but in your average pug if you take you eye of the rest of them for 5 seconds they'll all run off and stand in fire. Probably several different fires.
And of course, your dude will probably spot that you're healing him, whereas a lot of people miss the fact that HW is mostly HoT (entirely HoT if you don't spike it with divinity), so go "OMG HAMSTER HAELS" and drink a pot, missing out on all the extra heals they would've gotten if they'd waited.
Basically, I would like to be able to keep a bunch of idiots alive, most of the time. At the moment, I can just about do that. Often while teaching them things.
Post patch it's going to be...more difficult.

Nobody's saying you can't use it if it works for you. I used that when I dinged 60 for a while but it just seemed lacking sometimes not to mention with so many mobs and people jumping everywhere it could get hard to target not to mention it's terrible at regening divine power. It was great for pulling agro off people though, total life saver in Kurrandax before, just hit the rogue with it every once in a while and all the ads would run to me.
I switched to FF once I figured out how much healing it put out, like wow what a diference, not to mention it does damage and if you cast it out of divine mode it gives decent divine power regen if needed. FF of course loses quite a bit when your group is not very static.

it's not affected by recovery afaik.
I want this class in NW.
