I've just been trying this game out for a week or so. I'm enjoying it so far. Though I've noticed a few "Bugs". I was trying to change color with my Dwarf, his armor and shield. Both were of the little box that previews the changes. I thought that was odd, as my Human had no such problem. Is there a problem with the smaller races items fitting in the preview box for some reason? Also I've noticed that when I make a new char I can't get the quest line (that sparkley line) to show up. Sometimes I have to log out then back in to get it. Not sure what's up with that. Oh and why does my Rogue not have a stealth option? It's not listed under skills or feats. Is it a bugged skill? I noticed that it's got no description when you make the char.

I would have posted all this in the "Bug Reporting" area, however, I'm still not able to start a new topic over there. Which is of course another odd thing in and of it'self.

You may have to scroll around in the preview box, or zoom out a bit, to get the item into view.

For the quest line sparkles, hit Z, it toggles it off and on again.

Rogues don't get stealth until a certain level , it's tied to the 'TAB' key. I don't recall exactly which level, possibly around 10 or so.

Thanks for the answers Elawyn! I didn't know Stealth was given later in levels. Good to know. I'll try scrolling around as you suggest when changing my short guys stuff.

However, I tried many a time to toggle the line on or off with the "Z" key. For some reason that line is not showing up until right before or just after I get to the bridge area.

You mean right at the start before you even get into Protectors Enclave? Yah, I'd noticed that too.

There's a few of those initial ones (and many later on) where the sparkly trail just leads you into the general area (for things like 'help 5 wounded soldiers, collect 3 sets of arrows), that's as designed/intended.

For the others in the tutorial section, once you've done it once it's easy enough.

Also, try bringing up the map with the M key, if you can find the destination on there you can double click on the map and that should give you a sparkly trail to that map point.

Thanks for the info Elawyn. I have to say, I find myself getting all turned around since the camera is so twitchy. But, I'm getting used to it. I got my Mage up to 7th level and feel pretty good about it. Now if I could only make up my mind as to what class my 2nd char should be..... :-)

I have to say... I'm a bit unimpressed with the armor choices. Every bit of armor my Rogue found that she could wear (only about 2% of all armor I found as loot) looks the same. No change between the shirt or the leather armor... All have for some odd reason the left side panel missing. I guess I was thinking for a new game, there would be a larger pool of looks to choose from. It's all kinda bland.

Oh, and what's up with the Rogues doing that little "Peanuts" dance after each fight?? I had to trash my Halfling Rogue because he just creeped me right out doing that. My new Elven rogue is only a bit better, but she does look better dancing. :-)

Ah well... I'll probably trash her as well.. since I can only have two chars, I want to try a Dwarf fighter soon. I just hope he doesn't start dancing after fights!!

peanut dance is actually more like a Bruce Lee "ha ha, I won!" dance. I quite like it.

As for armor all looking the same, the answer is only if you aren't looking closely. There are some slight variations between armors of the same level, and about a dozen different basic looks up to the 20's. After that you will start to see some wide variations appear. It's not easy to see when you pick stuff up but there is a trick to it using the change appearance preview.

After release on the 20th, you'll start to see more dyes appearing (some can be player crafted) and that's where the huge variations come into play. Even now tho, there are ways to get a truly unique look, for rogues, see... http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?206112-The-lt-Official-gt-Show-Off-Your-Rogue-Thread

just started my rogue, then read about the game misleading stats so started again level 10 now and going to keep pushing till 60

game has a steep learning curve im guessing when you get into the 30's?

30's is when it starts to become 'challenging' (at least until you learn more). Many folks consider levels prior to 30 as just an extended tutorial (and I tend to agree with that sentiment). It's after 30 (or so) that you will find that monsters are getting tougher, or arriving in larger groups, or that you definitely need better armor and weapons (much of which is easily found n the auction house for very low prices, and since you get several hundred AD from invoking it shouldn't be too difficult. Just remember to click on the 'usable by me' option AND scroll through looking for items with a buyout price). You'll probably change weapons and armor every few levels.

Personally, I managed to level up my main character (a rogue) in about a month of semi-casual play, doing very few dungeons and no PvP at all. For my alternates, they're both in the mid 30's and progressing very slowly.

Two key things. Blacklake District and the ques from Zoey fargo, make sure to do those, the reward is an extra loot bag. By the 30's, Graveyard and Tristopher Chettlebel quest line. Make sure to do that for a second bag.

Ok, I got my Mage up to 13th level. It's been a blast so far. I've gotten some rewards for that undead invasion and such, that was cool. I got the extra Bag, thanks for the heads up on that Elawyn!

Question time now... Anyone know if there is gonna be some sort of manual put out after the 20th? I'm so lost on the whole crafting, professions and these odd orb like things I got as rewards. They look to be some kind of enhancement to gear, but I have no idea how it works. There really needs to be some info on all this.

Your best bet is going to be the Wiki

    http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Neverwinter_Wiki

Manuals are fairly rare in MMOs. Simply due to the fact that they are always changing, updating, on going. Nothing worse then finding out you've been taking advice from old out of date data. And everything you expected, no longer applies.

The Wiki at least seems fairly up to date and accurate. And its much easier for it to stay that way then to constantly updating manuals. Even if they are only printed on line.

Thanks for the heads up on the Wiki Sockmunkey! I tried your link, but it doesn't like my login. I'm guessing I have to have a whole other login then my normal Wiki account?? As well as a different login from the forums?? Is this some kind of off the Wiki books Wiki?? Not really following a reason why this Wiki doesn't let me use my Wiki login, but there ya go.

And thanks for the Welcome Sominator.

I don't know all that much about the Wiki, or wikis in general. I do know this one is officially supported by Cryptic. But I believe the day to day operations, permissions, and such are handled by just a few dedicated players.

I just know its been a good source of info for me. I wish I could offer more insight.

That's more then enough info sockmunkey. I was able to go to the Wiki (just had to keep the ads) and got a good amount of info. So thank you for that!
