(Have you leveled it yet? I have discovered quite a many recipes that would say that its pretty much well rounded)
I have gotten rather high in it using the AD that come with my character copy.
Best Parts so Far:
- Missions to discovery new potions (yipee).
- Missions that give you potions (yipee!)
- A few missions that are profession experienced focus, which give *alot* of experience. Then you have dozens of missions for potions, materials, and other things like assets/workers.

Ah, so the discovery missions do that a result?

Yea, they give you Recipes... that give you a temp. gray item/white item that is consumed when you collect. That new recipe will show up in your list of missions. Some of the potions are ones we already have, some are mystery potions, I will have to load up PTR and make a list here of everything I have discovered.

Beautiful. It's much needed, no doubt.
I don't suppose we'll be able to make kits with this as well?

Started leveling it up. It is certainly different from the other professions.
Yuppers. Guess Its time to save zen up for profession booster packs... since like the other professions the only way to get green/blue quality of these is from those.. or those profession pack (quest reward).

So far for rare tasks, I see batches of 10 of potions you have discovered and.....dye packs. Level 7 I'm see a pack of 6 Guardian Fighter's dyepacks.
I really wish they'd let you upgrade white assets into green/blues instead of making you buy packs and hope to get one.
As it is, to get 1 purple, you'd need 1024 base items. Assuming I didn't buy any at the AH, it would take 205 days of running all 5 profession slots just to recruit those 1024 assets. Then you'd have to start working on upgrading them; another 50+ days just to get to the tier 2 asset. It'd take close to a year to generate 1 purple 'for free'.

I don't think our resource / asset inventory can take that many items...

Used one of those mystery potions, eh Well I can't wait to level this up (to max)... even on the ptr. I even went ahead and Q'd up some white workers so tomorrow I could Q up more and fiddle with more of it.

To get 1 purple you need 4 blues and 16 greens.
we have 9 profession slot total (per character).
I assume you are making a suggestion but didnt state it.
Open the Launcher. Click Options near the top. Check Disable on-demand patching. This will download another couple of gigs.
"Steel Philosopher's Stone"... how does that even begin to make any sense?
I thought the philosopher's stone is some sort of magical rock... maybe it's laced with steel (which really is a combination of iron and carbon) impurities? :P It boggles the mind :P
So far I have been a wolf, a chicken, and a boar. Sadly you can't mount your horse while transformed.
I have also turned huge. On the negative side, I have been poisoned and taken various amounts of damage as well (but health steal works so I get some health back from hurting myself).
The most common effect seems to be nothing happening though.

As I suggested: "I really wish they'd let you upgrade white assets into green/blues"
And, barring spending mounds of AD on green/blue/purple stuff, most folks will have only 5 or 6 slots available to them.
My point is: that IF it were possible to upgrade whites to > whites, if one chose not to spend any serious amount of currency on upgrades, it would still take ages to get high quality stuff. of course, if one chose to spend lots of currency it would be a lot faster, but how would that be different than how it is now?

I assume he meant using 4 rank 3 white assets to make one green, but this only applies to workers and not tools.

I am sorry if I am being rude, but your post was completely off topic with what this forum post is about, which is the new profession. There are various threads about this complaint about crafting... can we not discuss this here? Thank you!

was befuddled that it wasn't in the game already, considering all the potions we use.

Yes, crucible, mortar, and philosopher's stones. Along with apothecaries.
