I'm looking for a new class to play.
Currently clerics are obviously the most wanted, but they're getting a huge nerf hammer soon, no?
I know everyone will be going crazy when the balance patch comes out and people are going to reconsider which classes to take to dungeons, but which class without a doubt would always be the most demanded for PvE and/or PvP after the patch?

clerics will still be one of the most, if not the most, in demand class. People are severely over-reacting and just generally being emotionally unstable.
Anyhow, at best I think GF and GWF might go from being kicked from groups to being accepted. That will probably be the most significant change of the whole thing.
Clerics / healers will always be wanted in all MMOs. Neverwinter is no different. They just won't be as OP and required as it is now. Double Astral Shield stacking had to go and it's been a 2 month overdue nerf.
Guardians will be the new flavor of the month class. They will be needed to tank and if you have multiple GFs in a group, the non-tanking GFs can switch to Timeless Hero or Stalwart Bulwark set and dish out insane damage.

While Astral Shield is getting a nice little debuff...
Virtually everything else is getting upped a bit.
As a healer I can't wait for the patch to go live. I actually noticed a decent improvement in healing ability despite the changes to Astral Shield and my overall damage is actually significantly higher. Plus all the freaking out over AS is a bit less meaningful since threat has been modified.
All in all the most demanded class will always be a cleric. Every party "needs" at least one while every other class will be a toss-up.
However Guardian Fighters will be seeing a bit more action I think. There's a huge difference in the GF's ability to control aggro in the preview which should increase their demand if properly spec'ed.
Possibly a GF, by the sound of it people will want both a Cleric and a GF in their parties, and since less people play GF than Clerics... you get the picture.
I recommend playing the class you enjoy playing because once you get in a friendly active guild or meet new friends in-game, questing and getting into parties should not be a problem.
Seems like a silly question to me. Cleric. Theres no T2 runs without one, nerfed not nerfed is of no consequence. Clerics are required for dungeons. No idea about PvP in this game but the answer for dungeons is simple. This one absolute required class needed to complete dungeons.
Obviously the answer is ranger or warlock or paladin's or Monk or Swordmage or ardent or Avenger or Barbarian or Bard or Battlemind or Druid or Invoker or Psion or RunePriest or Shaman or Seeker or Sorcerer or Warden or Warlord or Artificer.
Clerics because there is only one healing class and they are required for end game...

I'm gonna create a DPS specced Cleric, skip the healing powers/feats and laugh when people complain about a lack of healing. It'll be like a "troll cleric" of sorts.

Lol. Whip out the potions and heal your own butts.
Most demanded class is Clerics obviously.
Control Wizards however, are also in high demands as every dungeon requires a decent CW to run the dungeon without fail.
With that being said, the Guardian Fighters would be your 3rd most "demanded" class as they would keep aggro and this would make life much easier for the party. The reason for this is you only need one Cleric for every dungeon now.

Happy Gaming!
Apart from bastion of health, break the spirit, divine armour, hallowed ground (depending on walls?), cleanse, ethereal boon and power of oppression.

Agree with morsitans.
Precisely what is getting buffed?
More like what isn't either
a) getting nerfed
b) not getting buffed but should have been
I think clerics will still be most in demand though.
I'm retiring mine post-patch and have already rerolled to CW
