I can tell you all right now, there are a huge lack of clerics as of right now. If this patch goes live, there will be 50-80% even less clerics. I myself will not play a class that is meant to heal everyone if the heals keep getting nerfed for the worse.
Tip for cryptic/perfectworld: Don't try to fix what isn't broken.
If you HAMSTER the players off, they will stop playing.
If you lose customers, you lose money.
We all know you are all about the money, considering there are mounts going for 40 dollars in the zen store.
Do yourselves a favor, don't mess with the playerbase.
Do both of us a favor, and LISTEN to us.

There are 2 main reasons that I think that changing the Astral Shield cooldown time will screw us over.
1. Potions are timed, you can only use them every 12 seconds, and I'm going to say we sometimes have to take about 30-50k damage in the time it takes for us to use a potion that heals 12k. Makes no sense
2. Astral shield is a must. Without astral shield, the party will kick you. There is almost no way to survive without astral shield, because you only have 3 healing word charges before you have to wait 15 seconds for only 1 to come back. Bastion of health has an extremely long cooldown, and its a burst heal. The best heals are the heals over time, which was perfect with our astral shield.

Well it was broken. AS should not have stacked.
Also it was the ONLY useful spell comparatively speaking, that's broken.
That being said, yeah, they need some serious cleric fixes.

Do you have a reliable source for this claim of yours, or are you just rinning off hearsay?

Astral Shield was broken. The issue is that they kicked away the crutch clerics were using without improving anything else in its place.
The aggro mechanic changes help a lot, but aren't visible when people are just reading down the devoted cleric changes.
We know that some clerics are able to make do with the changes, some aren't. and some won't even try. When the pioneers have worked out new builds, more will be willing to make a go of it.
It does look like playing a DC will be harder, at least until people adjust. The lack of respecs on the test server is an issue hindering this.

Nah. That argument doesn't work. Its the Devs job to fix stuff that is broken and to make changes to the game where needed. If you nerf an ability or class, or remove an exploit, you will always get complaints, but the devs shouldn't shy away from making necessary changes just because they might upset some people used to the current status.
Of course opinion is divided as to whether this particular change is necessary, but the ability for the devs to make changes is vital, and indeed one of the dev's responsibilities.
