GF or GWF?

I'm feeling like rolling a melee class so I was wondering what the better option would be for PVE,solo only play? I know a lot of people will say TR, but I've never been a fan of rogues, and their armour looks woeful.
Endgame raiding/dungeons is also a non factor as I'll probably never do them.
Which of the 2 have better survivability during the leveling process and which isn't the most painful to hack stuff to death with?

With the current state of the game: a gwf is painful leveling until you get a cleric. even after that, it's not really much fun to solo content. Helms deep..err 'helms hold' i meant (lvl 30-ish) is pretty much the only area i can truly say was enjoyable.

GF is a lot better all round although slightly dull

post patch, gwf is definately more fun to level/solo

I personally enjoy GWF for PvE. Leveling isn't THAT painful. You just drink potions like it's your job until you get that cleric.

GWF is probably the hardest class to level overall. It's a pain until at least level 35. Even though they are currently underpowered, I personally feel it is rewarding to get to 60. Think of the class as a magikarp and you evolve into a gyarados at 60.

Thanks for the replies. In the end I just tossed a coin and went with GF. But I'll probably start a GWF anyway.
