Need help with a quest in my foundry

I will admit to being very new and so I'm sorry if this actually has an obvious answer but I haven't figured it out on my own yet. What I have is an NPC that gives you a riddle with 3 possible answers. At this point once you pick your answer more dialog shows up telling you to go collect 4 mushrooms to unlock a door. 1st of all I can't figure out how to make it so that you can actually pick up the mushrooms so that they disappear off of the floor. I want them to disappear only after being told to pick them up and not when people just randomly click on things. I really wish I could make it so that you have a quest show up on your screen and it counts the number of mushrooms to collect and then tells you to use the mushrooms on the door and have the mushrooms disappear from your inventory. I think I could do most of that except I want the player to be able to go back to the same NPC and pick a second option and get a new quest to pick up 4 other mushrooms and unlock another door. I have 3 answers to my riddle which means 3 different doors that are unlocked by picking up 4 unique mushrooms per door. I can't figure out how to do that with just 1 NPC. Right now I have it set to dialog and people actually talk to each mushroom and each one is its own mark and the doors do unlock this way but the quest on the screen never changes which can be confusing to some. If you want to see the room in question - I have published my foundry and it does work right now - its just not working how I would love to have it work. My short code is NW-DLA4ZT606 - its the second map so not too long to get to it (less than 5 min if you take the purple path) Thank you for any help or advice anyone can give - take care!

Ok so thanks to the wonderful posting of all the great tutorials - I have learned how to make a mushroom - yay! Unfortunately picking up 4 different mushrooms was not recommended since it takes up so much bag space. So now I mostly just need to know if its even possible to have 3 different objectives of collecting(talking to) 4 mushrooms with only having 1 npc? If yes - can it be set up so you see the number of mushrooms collected as you progress in the quest?

Ok, just a tip for you: there is a chat NW_FOUNDRY (/join NW_FOUNDRY) that is used for helping other foundry fellows. You can use it while editing your map.
And regarding your question, you can. However you don't talk to mushrooms, use "interact", its better. And you simply add additional objectives by dragging it to left/right of your quest to make it appear in the same objective.
Review trades - Need to trade review? Read first post for further info.
Siegebreaker - NW-DGDPWV2U5 - story about the ambush, escape and great rescue of the city.
    I'm a streamer and I know it!

Thank you for the chat - I will try that out. I was wanting an "or" quest situation - like red, blue or green door choices with the ability to re-talk to npc . Dragging the objectives made it an "and" situation. I think I'll just have to make the collecting an "and" quest so you have to get all 3 types of mushrooms at once and then the dialog can lead you to the correct doors. Thanks for the help though - I really appreciate it!

You can do OR logic, but it's fiddly and not something I'd recommend for your first quest.

Baby steps, grasshopper. Walk, then run. Etc etc etc. You can move onto the advanced foundry shenanigans once you've gotten some experience under your belt ;)
