Will you respec or start afresh when the "major update" arrives?

So I've been thinking (dangerous activity, very slippery slope ) that when this Major Update arrives I may just start afresh with new characters. Since the re-balancing will likely require re-thinking how best to build your toons it makes sense to start from scratch. That way you can see just what the re-balance did. True, I'll have to do it all over again (the quests, the dailys, the professions, etc.) BUT what I'm taking into it is knowing how the systems basically work. Such as,
1. Don't do Daily quests if you want to follow the Story Quests and NOT out-level yourself. Both my current characters are 12-15 levels beyond the Story Quests they are running through, trying to catch up. OR strictly limit how many you do.

2. Don't do Story Quests (beyond level 6 or so) if your thing is the Daily Quests. Again, you can out-level a skirmish or dungeon before you know it. OR strictly limit how many you do.

3. Start accruing AD as soon as you can through Invocation, Professions and Quests (being mindful of 1 & 2 above).

4. Perform Invocation every day but probably no more than 3 times per day. You have a fair chance of leveling on Invocation alone as my characters have repeatedly.

5. Gold is primarily useful only for buying crafting resources (like thread, etc) and low level assets (like Worn Sword, Worn Awl, etc.) as far as I've seen. So spend it freely to get the crafting resources/assets as you can. (PLEASE correct this if there are other good uses for Gold).

6. Save your gold in early game and BUY A HORSE as soon as possible. IMHO, the time saved running around a Zone is worth it. And don't worry about low Gold, there is plenty more out there.

Now, if some of these basics change as well in any significant way so be it. Yet another reason to start afresh.

But the respec will SAVE A TON OF TIME and is sooooo attractive to avoid having to redo all the same old stuff again. AND my characters will be ready for the Level 60+ zones when Module1 is released. (Of course the Major Update may precede the Module1 release sufficiently that new characters could be at Level 60 in time ...)

What will you do?

Gold can be traded for AD.

I will be using the free respec on my gwf. I am not rolling a new character until I can roll a dragonborn paladin.

What I want to know, is if it is 1 free respec for each player, or 1 for each character.

It has to be a free respec for each character. With all of the changes, only being able to respec one of you toons would really upset a lot of people.
TL : DR? Then don't waste my time responding.

I'm looking to swap out some games I'm not going to play again for some stuff I would make use of. Up for trade I have:

    1) Darkfall: Unholy Wars account - hardcore, full-loot, PvP-focused MMORPG good in both NA and EU but has no playtime remaining. $15 per month to play, but if you were planning to spend $40 on the initial purchase price this would save you $25 off that. There's a very low level character with some random items you can feel free to delete or use as you prefer.

    2) Neverwinter Online - MMORPG game account with a level 60 rogue and about 150k Astral Diamonds, full set of epic PvP gear, lots of other assorted items and things.

    3) Simcity (2013) Limited Edition + Deadspace 3 - 2x Origin accounts with these two games on it, and the associated hotmail accounst which were create specifically for them. Bought the copies of Simcity as preorders to play with gf but the launch of this game was not pretty, to be polite. On the other hand, they are up to patch 4.0 and I've heard its improved but I've got no desire to play now.

    What I'm looking for:

    1) GW2 account - I'd like to try the PvP in this game, doesn't matter what level the character is or anything like that.

    2) TERA Online account - any with a level 60 character

    3) TERA Online gold/items - would have to be on Mt. Tyrannus server, I've got a 43 priest I'm slowly leveling

    4) Steam trades - open to whatever offers

    5) Other offers - surprise me

If interested you can contact me at flapjackstack1@live.com (have Steam and Ventrilo as well) Thanks!

There are better ways to voice your displeasure with this game. This, just a dumb attempt at being witty.

If the major update includes class balance changes, there will be free respec tokens for all characters on an account. That's how Cryptic had done it for their other MMOs, and it's an industry standard.

Gold is also useful for buying potions, it's not so bad at lower levels but at higher ones you can easily find yourself carrying too few potions around.

I will probably /delete my chars and wait until an un-nerfed healing class is avaiable (paladin/druid/bard). I realy expected a LOT more from that big update...
As it is right now if you play a Cleric you should:
    - like to be treated as meatshield.
    - like to heal yourself for HAMSTER.
    - like to deal sh1tty damage.
    - like to be constantly nerfed.

So to all my fellow masochists i bid you farewell :)
    Until better times come...

Don't forget the "Threat from Healing is now spread across enemies in an encounter, generating less for each enemy in the encounter." as well.

Use AD to buy your horse (Gold Horse should be on the AH); save Gold to buy Kits/Pots/Crafting.
Open the Launcher. Click Options near the top. Check Disable on-demand patching. This will download another couple of gigs.

If I were displeased with the game I wouldn't play it, nor post to the forums.

All of your characters will most likely be wiped of feats and powers and all points will be in the pool for you to re-spend as you see fit. I don't think they'll be handing out respec tokens. They'll just do it for you.

If you are a free player buy companions with the gold so you have one while the others are training.

Sounds like a good update when it finally does happen. I imagine CWs will cry nerf, but GWF and GF should be more than viable after this patch lands. I hope they decide to put in the invisible walls so people can't gimp mobs off of ledges.

Do we have any sort of ETA for these changes?

I, for one, will just keep playing my 2 characters, respec'ing them as I see fit. Once new classes come out I will buy more character slots to play some of those.
