Using the build your own black map

Can you use the black map that is in the interior section to create an external map? There's no way to build a small map of a village or city street on is there? There are no ground tiles to be used for this, right?

Nevermind, I see how this can't work. Besides there's no way to add sky to it if you're using it along with an interior map.
