Long story short, I'm currently playing my TR more than the first two Characters I made (GF and DC) since its what our group needs. (Biting back GF comments here :P )
I am putting out good DPS (I feel) but I do get irritated on bosses when I land a crappy bleed. I run Metzli's build since I only PvE on the rogue currently, Link here -

My standard bleed rotation for a boss is as follows >
Stealth, Flurry, Wicked Reminded (To break stealth), Lurkers > Stealth > Flurry.
Now sometimes I get a great bleed (I also run Neverbleed - Thankyou Kurahavi - Its helped me a ton) link here -

Sometimes I'll get 12-19K bleeds, great ! Sometimes 6-8K ugh! (Taking about Trudmg here - not after debuffs)
Now to the point of my post, when I get a crappy bleed, I continue DPSin the boss to build AP, soon as it hits full I back off to let the crappy bleed drop and re-do my initial rotation trying to get a better bleed.
I have 3 questions I'm hoping the Rogue community can comment on and help me out.
First - Is my rotation optimal for getting that High crit bleed? Should I use Lashing instead of Wicked? Is there some part of the rotation I am missing / messing up on?
Second - Boss fights my loadout is - Wicked Reminder, Lashing Blade and Shadow Strike. I stay stealthed as much as possible using Shadow strike / Lurkers so kinda like having Shadow strike, Wicked Reminder is not really debatable .. but if I should be using skills other than Lashing / Wicked reminder what would they be? My AP generation seems low, Possibly b/c I am used to playing GF and DC which get really fast AP generation. When I am off ganking the boss it just feels like an age before I can re-do my opener. Tips on faster AP generation would be great!!!
Third - Is 6-8K (non-crit) and 12-19K, I occasionally see 20K+ but its rare, (crit) about right for bleeds at my gear level? (Remember - Trudmg)
Further info - I run an ArP build with 20% ArP currently. I just level'd the rogue so gears not optimal atm and sitting around 10.5K GS + Max level Ioun stone pet.
Of course the actual damage of my bleeds goes up with wicked reminder / ray and GWF debuffs (which my group has access to and uses) so please dont get hung up on the figures ... they are pre-mitigation.

For me at least it's because there's nothing really that stands out. Your bleed damage seems good. Yes, rogue AP gain is the slowest ever. I'm running 4/4 swash so I get around 3k recovery which helps a bit. There is a possibility to run BaS but I'd say it's highly specialized use atm.
With Metzli's build I'd say you have no but to use your current encounters.
Biggest problem atm is that no one is 100% sure how the flurry bleed works, so it's a pain in the *** trying to increase the dmg. Always fun for the bleed to crit for 4k dmg after using Lurkers...
Also you might reconsider lashing blade vs 40% higher damage because of stealth. If you're taking wicked then you probably should use lashing, since you're not in stealth that much. If you drop both and take bait and switch + shadow strike + something, you can remain in stealth a lot longer and cause flank hits more. Also since it increases your ap gain a lot in general on bosses, you can do lurkers a lot more often which on the other hand gives higher chance on getting high bleed.
Just a few thoughts, I don't know if its right or wrong to use those encounters but at least some different ideas.
Thanks for the input. I do use Bait and Switch but mostly just for clearing trash on the way to boss (It keeps HAMSTER off my cleric) I was using Wicked reminder for the debuff obviously, stacked with Ray and our GWF Debuff (Forget what its called, the one in the sentinel tree) it ups damage nicely. I'll have to try Bait and Switch + Shadow + other on a boss and see how the parse looks. Those were the skills I used leveling in the solo dungeons to maintain max stealth uptime (I level'd with an Ioun stone - no cleric pet so staying stealthed was important!)
Thanks though, I'll try running stealth longer and see how the numbers pan out next to the debuff. 40% extra dmg from stealth may see a little more DPS over the debuff if I can maintain stealth with a high uptime. Maby Bait and Switch, Shadow Strike and Lashing, If I can time my Lashings right at the end of each stealth ... sounds good. Thanks again for the input
