Just a brief warning for those considering their first Zen purchase. I've been playing for about a week now, and am familiar with a few of the foibles of the game, but this one is weird.
Just this morning I bought my first bit of Zen and added it to my account successfully. Immediately after I made my first purchase with Zen (yay more bag space, I know, lame, but **** those augments are many and varied and I'm a hoarder), I got disconnected and the patcher gives the error "Unable to Authenticate."
I've read several threads about this error where basically we are told that when this problem arises suddenly for dozens/hundreds of us, it is each of our own individual computers' problems and we should troubleshoot accordingly. It is definitely not the login server. Except for all of those other times when it was the login server. Disregard those.
I followed the troubleshooting steps such as flushing dns, restarting computer, powering off modem, and dancing around the computer three times while chanting in tongues. Nothing has worked and it has been several hours now.
So, post hoc ergo propter hoc, buying Zen leads to the inability to log in. There it is.
Play free or not at all!

Are you aware that post hoc ergo propter hoc is a phrase that is used to demonstrate logical fallacy?
