Is the upcoming Ranger class the Two handed-aragorn style Ranger, or the archer type?

I ask, as my two mains for 4th edition was an illusionist wizard and a Two handed ranger that just murdered everything.

    Couldn't it also be a dual wield Drizzt style ranger?

    I didn't even know there is going to be a ranger class. When's it coming out?

    Nothing has been confirmed, but I would guess an Archer Ranger or Scourge Warlock.

    It has been confirmed to be a "ranged" class. Take that for what it is.

    My favorite fictional character, but devs..........please start making Drizzt's name an invalid choice during character creation. Oh, and offer the ones already defiling the name a free name change.

    Yes, we know that Ranger and Warlock are the next two classes to come out, as well as Dragonborn for race. We have been told that the next class will be a Ranged one. There has been a lot of talk about Archer Ranger as the next class, but if Scourge Warlock is next that will also fill the ranged striker roll.

    They hinted that the next one will be "ranged".

    Dragonborn has not been confirmed. In fact devs have mentioned that it has been pushed to the back burner. It is a safe bet the next race will be Drow. We all know its comming. its been promised, and its an easy thing to add with the module 1 expansion.
