New author just starting

Quick question I added a bunch of items to a map just to check out various effects etc. is there a way to select all and delete? I drag and can select but hitting the delete key does nothing. so I am forced to delete items one at a time which is going to be insane if I auto fill an area and want to change it.

    1. Make sure you're in Detail mode. Select all the objects by dragging.
    2. Change to Layout mode whilst all objects remain selected.
    3. Press delete.

    I think I've used the "Layout" mode and deleted everything in a room including the room. FYI, you can make a room like you want and duplicate it in Layout mode. This saves a lot of time if you're making a big dungeon and keeping the same look in some of the rooms.
