TIP: There is a custom Trade chat channel for serious trading

Many people don't realize there is a custom Trade chat channel that is used by many people instead of spamming Zone chat in PE. You can also customize your tabs and make a separate one just for Trade and/or Zone so they don't clutter up your other chats from guild/whispers/loot/etc.

Hey guys instead of spamming zone chat to trade or lfg, Join a official trade/lfg channel.

Type /channel_join NW Dragon Trade - to join trade for dragon
and /channel_join NW Dragon LFG - to join lfg for dragon

or /channel_join NW Mindflayer Trade
/channel_join NW Mindflayer LFG
or
/channel_join NW Beholder Trade
/channel_join NW Beholder LFG

To post in these channels, use the button on the bottom left to select one. To modify their colors or turn off zone chat, press the cog in the upper left hand corner.

I created the dragons ones, and we got lots of members already . I encourage other servers to create ones appropriately named too. Also create friendly descriptions and messages of the day please.

Owners of the other servers channels posts here and i'll put your names in, so ppl can message u if the motd or description should be changed.

Thanks guys and enjoy the less-spammy channels.

Warning: Do not spam this channel by repeating messages multiple times in a row or typing in all caps, or you will be ignored. People who use this channel have taken the time to set it up, and if they want to buy or sell or trade from you then they will see your post the first time, you don't need to "stand out among the crowd".

    I'm sorry to say at different times of the day there are many Champions Online players that also use the /trade channel, so I changed the channel name from "trade" to "tradeNW" for trading specific to Neverwinter. Hopefully this one takes off :)

    We've had NWOTrade for a while but lack of advertisement and all...


    oh and when they merge the servers, we'll have to have another trade/lfg channel...
    Open the Launcher. Click Options near the top. Check Disable on-demand patching. This will download another couple of gigs.

    I don't think many people want to use New World Order trading. But TradeNW could be used after the merge.

    Also I'm hoping Cryptic is working on something in the future for this... There is a major patch they are working on that supposedly fixes a ton of bugs (per their twitter), perhaps this might be one of the issues addressed? **crosses fingers**

    I rather just use the /zone... why not.. everyone else does? Why gimp myself of a trade by posting in a literally unknown channel?

    Just to test, I joined the channel... not a single person posting in it.

    Custom channels are nice but won't receive a huge usage since it's basically a private channel controlled by it's creator. Someone says something that the Mod doesn't like and then gets black listed. People will still spam zone chat because that's where they get the furthest exposure.

    The final solution is that Cryptic has to just add a normal trade channel for Neverwinter. I doubt they will since they haven't for STO and it looks like they probably don't have one for Champions Online since it's users have a private trade channel.

    I realize custom channels aren't the best options, but having threads like these and making these kinds of efforts will hopefully stress to Cryptic that a Trade channel for the game is greatly desired by the community.

    Perhaps if they made the UI include a second default tab just next to the Default tab that has a dedicated Neverwinter Trade channel. That way all users know it's there, and they only have to see it if they choose to click on it. We'll see     :)

    I wouldn't use this. I don't wish to hinder myself on purpose. If someone asks a question in zone chat, it usually is answered. There isn't a problem with the trade "spam". If you don't like it, leave the channel.

    By advertising it here, your just telling the Gold spammers were to find you as well. It will be consumed... eventually.

    This just wont work, we all know we cannot control what people posts in what channel. Just look at every mmo ever. You will get LFG spam in an official trade chat, you will get trade chat in /zone. It is how it works. Best idea would just to make a dedicated forum, or allow trade chat to be accessed via all zones.
