So this is it?

I usually play mage type characters in MMOs, if for no other reason than you don't need to get surrounded by mobs unless you WANT to. And the skills typically look cooler etc.

So as there is only one ranged DD class, that as a bonus has a lot of CC skills, I "chose" CW.

It was great in the beginning. I had fun freezing things and tossing Chill Strike into a group of mobs. Singularity was fun, and Shield became my favorite skill ever when I got it.

Now that I'm almost lv60, nothing much has changed.

I still use Mastery slot for Chill Strike, I still use Shield for on demand aoe/ap gen/lols near cliffs. I love Steal Time and spam it as much as I can. That it gives me full Arcane Mastery means I don't need to spam MM unless its all I got atm.

Sudden Storm is, aside from its asinine bug where it does next to NO damage during singularity is awesomely useful.

I use Storm Pillar to build AP, and Ice Knife to gouge hp out of mobs like I'm cleaning out a pumpkin. And I HAVE to use singularity even though I've LONG since stopped liking it.

I use it pop shield and pop steal time so they all stunned on drop. repeat. repeat. repeat. repeat.

That's it. Thats what you do as a CW.

My point is that its not that fun to play a CW, at least for me. The ONLY thing anyone wants you to do is spam singularity (but DON'T knockback the mobs idiot!) and anything else you do is irrelevant.

If that skill DIDN'T exist, how in the hell would parties even function? *sarcasm*

I started a Rogue around the same time, and haven't bothered to get it past 15. I might try cleric. And the Warrior classes already didn't appeal to me, but given how little love there is for them in this game I am even more turned off by them.

So...that's it then? The only reason to level up to 50 is to get Eye of the Storm, as the lv50 powers suck and no one uses them and you get 10 extra levels to find out just how useless the powers you chose to skip really are.

There is only one useful at-will: Magic Missile

Two accepted dailys: Ice Knife and Singularity (even though I prefer Oppressive Force)

Generally Required Encounter powers: Shield, Steal Time, and Sudden Storm. With remaining slot for your choice.

Sorry but that isn't enough for an entire class. And, considering how op Sudden Storm, Storm Spell and Eye of the Storm are I can't imagine what the future Paragon paths would need to have in them to get people to pick them over Spellstorm Mage.

I already don't understand why anyone wouldn't pick Renegade + the first bit of Thaumaturge for feats. More power to the Oppressors out there but I cannot agree with them.

I've played a lot of MMOs off and on over the years. Though I've stuck with PWI since 2009. I'm sure the fact that at lv10 in that game any of the TEN classes therein already has more skills, and USEFUL ones, than any in this game has a lot to do with it.

That being said, I am awaiting new classes. Hopefully with some fire-based skills, because a wizard without a fireball is sad. Also, featherfall could actually be useful in this game. It would be an awesome way to get off the top of Icepeak ;)

I'm also waiting for something else but as its not a PWE game I won't mention it.

Has it occurred to you that this game might never please you? From reading your post,
the CW lacks depth, and none of the other classes can hold your interest either.

Personally, Ive been doing Castle Never and PvP on a 60 rogue and 60 CW and I actually
enjoy playing. The problem is that everyone is looking for some advanced game that will
always provide something new every day. Not going to happen.

This game is no different than any other game ever made: At some point you have used all of the
abilities. To say that you have to keep repeating the same abilities almost implies that you want
entire new bars of skills every level.

When you will run T2s your point of view on wizard's spells will change. It depends on your feats, your team and the fight but there are more useful spells than these ones. You will probably replace Sudden storm later on, it's great at low level but can't crit and doesn't generate a lot of APs. Note that the displayed damage on this spell is higher than what it actually does.

Sudden Storm is great for stacking the Shadow Weave bonus so he will most likely want to keep it, plus even with it's current inability to crit, it has no limitation on the number of mobs that it can hit within it's cone.

Ignore idiots that cry when you knock mobs. Use your shield pop right after you cast Singularity and the mobs will all be pulled back in anyway. Not to mention no other class is going to be doing 16k crits on an unlimited number of mobs, so you're AoE damage is trumping theirs anyway. The only classes that are really going to care about you knocking mobs are GWFs and GFs and as I said, your AoE damage from shield pops trumps anything that they can do.

    Pretty much.

Same goes for Cleric but it's even less flexible and more boring.

    Mandatory Skills :

    Encounters : Astral Shield/Sunburst

    Daily : Hallowed Ground

At Wills : Astral Seal, nothing else matters.

Feats : Same exact feat build, nothing else is better.

Atleast CW get a little bit of choice with feats and powers.

Clerics it's shield on cooldown, sunburst on cooldown, hallowed ground on cooldown, astral seal everything and run around tanking 50 adds like a champ.

Get's boring after awhile, makes me wish I was a healer in a classic MMO.
