Getting kicked so the leader can get the chest
Getting kicked to the leader can get mvp
Losing a critical piece of loot to a ninja

These things seem to demand action, a response. And the most immediate response that seems to make the most sense is calling out the person, making them accountable to the rest of the population for their behavior. Make them face the judgment of their peers.

Its makes sense, it seems rational and yet a deeper look reveals the tragic and unalterable flaw in that course.

What kind of people do these things? Good people? Kind people?

Without any prior knowledge I can empirically say that these are bad people, damaged in some way that allows them to imagine that this sort of behavior is alright. And the one thing you do not want to do is empower this sort of person to do more harm.

That is why Naming and Shaming is a no go. The Mods don’t know you from Adam (or Eve) and can’t fact-check any claim made by you or about you. Do you imagine that the sort of person who would do the things I have listed above would not name YOU as a perpetrator simply to ruin your standing? And the Mods will not know that it isn’t true, most of the forum participants will have no clue as to veracity.

Loot thieves and kick looters are pretty awful and it can be hard to pity them in the moment, but do not give in to the urge to hand them even more power. The sad truth is that if you are a good person, they are better at hurting people than you are. It doesn’t bother them at all and they don’t need to be angry to strike at you.

So Naming and Shaming isn’t a policy designed to cover up heinous behavior, it serves to keep those awful people from harming you.

The behavior they engage in is an indication of a system that needs changing and that is a good thing on which to focus. Send in tickets, alert GMS, get on the forums and post about what needs to be changed. You can even include the story of the events. But leave the names out.

Imagine that these people had the ability to hunt you down in the forums smear your name across the official web site and related social media and then blithely return to their activities.

You may have lost a chest, but it could be much worse.

    Why ?

You think foolios that act like that in game wouldn't just spam the forums with bogus ' flames ' ?

Just add ignore them and move on .
