how to use teh auction house sorting of columns

i don't use the AH, but i was thinking of getting a enchantment thing for a weapon
i go to the AH, enter the search terms and it says 400 results. right there i'm guessing there really is more than 400 available but i guess my results are confined to those lucky few 400
anyhow, i want the enchantment thing right now and not wait 4 days, or 2 hours, or whatever else. so i click the expire column to see the stuff that ends right now, or close to right now, but it just show's stuff expiring in 4 days...
see i want the stuff right now, not a week later. obviously i'm doing something wrong because there's always tons of people there and i doubt everyone using the AH has that patience for getting items that i'm obviously lacking
on the same note, sorting by bid column hardly seems to change things also.
maybe there's an idiot's guide to the neverwinter AH? i did do the tutorial quest, but if that quest imparted any special knowledge or wisdom of the AH mechanics, that's been lost to me
