Which is the best companion for Cleric?

Hello all,

I apologize if there has been a thread on this topic already, but it seems there is no straight answer on this.
Which companion is best for cleric, overall or in regards to healing. I am torn between Astral cat and Ioun stone, but have difficulty deciding which is better. Obviously Cat is better alone because it rewards more a stat bonus, but Ioun stone can be better since it can wear cleric Icons which have better stats then the belt you put on Astral cat.
Has anyone tested this and seen which is better? any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

iirc Ioun has better survivability than cat, cat can be one shot in AoE but I haven't really tested that myself to be honest. Maybe in the future I might do some testing but right now I'll just stick with the pet I do have which is not either of those and is rank 30.

I use the Nevermember guard. 3 def slots. he gives me 7% of his abilities and def and deflection are what I put into him. It worked well for me. He held aggro most the time and took it away from me.

I bought the ioun stone and have absolutely zero regrets about it. I love that little bugger.

Yeah I am considering the stone or the cat next.
