before I start, some of you might know me because I flame one of the thread and make it locked down. well, sorry for your inconvenient. I lied, I choose to become an idiot or whatever you can think, actually I did to see what are you really think about the game. why? let me give you a story of my friend experience on this game. he had a level 60 TR (it is really not me, I'm a 42 DC).
one day he enter a dungeon through queuing. in the dungeon, in a battle heat, someone in the team start to looting the items, so the choose-your-roll interface roll out, not 1, but 4. of course, it is annoying (for team devs who read this, can you guys very please change the way it is appear so if it appear so many it wont block main screen) so without think he choose all need, out of 4 he got 2 blue items GWF items. this when a ridiculous things start to happen, a player complaining "hey he takes it all blue items", no not a GWF, he is a TR, and he choose greed. my friend said "do you need the items?", no answer, next thing appear other player said "remind me later, I kick him after bosses". out of shock my friend try to calm down, stay and fight, but, rather choose greed/need he did all pass, even his own gear, since he already wear full glory point based gear. the battle end, he got kicked. he got rage with all question marks on his head, and he tell me the story.
after that, I'm seeing so much roll arguing thread suddenly appear on the forum out of nowhere, wow, if they not like the roll systems, why now? why not at the first start of the game?. using all the "information" in the forum thread at the time, which is the AH breakdown, here is what I saw: people start posting "looting rule" because they try to not gamble the loot thing for they own so they wont have to buy in AH which is still breakdown, so after AH come back they have something in their bag to sell (call me stupid whatever, I'm not really care as for now, because it is). but is it? isn't that very lame? so the next time, I try to become "something else", and some of you already know what happen next.
how can such a thing happen? simply lack of communication actually, but make things mre complex because there are 3 perspective already done by players in this game (or maybe many other MMO?):
1. player who see game as a game, just want to do things they want to do, not considering others, by all means a solo player. this kind of player see other as just-other-player or worst, well, perhaps these kind of player just trying to "escape from reality" or so. good kind of thinking actually but it does not mean they don't do group but they just do that because the game allowed too, and that the annoying part.
2. player who see the game as part of the world-community. this is good people, good team. these people also give briefing for the bosses sometime. but, sometime they also forget not all players are like them, not blaming them because not every player are so transparent about how they playing the game and start accusing other, this goes for all three.
3. player who see the game as a different world, with each group of community. this player have 1 way of thinking simply rule, follow the rule of the group, do "need rage" or "need before greed" according what most people at party did. this is what I trully did so far, in the game. good things to do, until a type 1 and 2 do thing on 1 party so confusing which one o follow, so using the "vote", which one is do more.
if some of you who already full of rage toward me and perhaps see these OP as letter of apologize, words of defeat, or pledge of guilty, whatever, I don't really care. what I do care is, stop try changing other player become player like you are, if you can't live with that join some guild with same perspective. hey, in the real social there were also some people that you call jerk or else, right? you can think here is somekind of "how tos: learning toward handling jerk and idiot"

PS: about the roll, not every player is MMO-advanced-player, some player are just new to this kind of systems, and they try to learn it via on-the-run learning. so please stop accusing and you might try to let them know about difference between Need and Greed too.
