So many people are saying they did it over paypall. We all know paypall doesn't return any money for online items and flat out refuse to escalate to a refund.
And credit card companies say 30days minimum time before you can proceed with anything. So are people just lying then or is there something I have missed
Many countries, especially European countries, have better consumer protection laws than the "have to wait 30 days" stipulation you just mentioned. If something is dubbed not fit for purpose, they can have their credit card company directly do a chargeback.

Enlighten me!
You cannot do it with paypal. Paypal does not issue refunds with regards to virtual goods. Plus do your own research... ppl tend to lie esp in an internet forum. You can dispute your charges thru your credit card or bank (if you use a debit card). Make sure your reasons are very good and you must be truthful because they will open an investigation. If you are lie or misrepresent the reason then that is fraud and the dispute will be denied. Also not all reason are accepted (like you changed your mind).
Note: This is for US credit transactions other countries may have their own law regarding credit card disputes. The 30 day is because some credit card requires 30 days (monthly) for transactions to fully register (or closed). That's when you can file appeal for unauthorized charges.
You also need to be aware, that if a company decides to challenge the chargeback, it can turn into a huge pain in the ***. It will also lead to lawyers getting involved and if for any reason you lose, it will end up costing you a LOT, as you will need to pay all the companies court fees.
I do not know about PWE, but most companies will not challenge chargebacks, since right from the beginning it costs them to do so and in most cases they just accept the chargeback if the amount is not worth fighting.
through paypal : try to tell them that the game was advertised to be live(as said on pw mainsite) but in fact it is in open beta - as said on neverwinter site.
if that does not work - try your credit card company.BUT make sure u got really good reasons for your chargeback. as this will casue trouble with paypal aswell.

Which usually(100% cases I know from other games) leads to ban of said CC for the company and ban on players account.
So, unless you live in GB, you are screwed, if you live in GB you can get refund, but won't share that awesome news because your account will be banned anyway.

Right, because its like returning goods, you dont get to keep using it if you didnt pay for it. Its far easier for the consumer to initiate and succeed on a chargeback in many of those countries. The end result is still the same, as youve outlined.
You could have done without the second sentence, it really diminishes the information of the first.
I just wanted to underline that its easier for people from GB to get their money back due to their laws, but thats just it, they will still loose their accounts.
hi there to sum it up i bought founders via paypal got a refund 4day later from pwe via paypal, they didnt dispute it didnt contact me nothing straight refund, item not as described, unfit for purpose,as no ad usage etc also the fact of at the time of dispute my founders had been hugley devalued due to an exploit which at the point of dispute was not fixed.
so guys simply put yes it can be done yes paypal will back you but you cant just say i want a charge back you need to be constructive offer the company alternative resolutions...but the jewel in the crown was pwe banned my account second of the dispute thus paypal instantly backed me up as i had no contact no product and no cash... no matter which way you look at it pwe shot themselfs and paypal said i would be refunded if they didnt apply a ban for all intents and purposes would have been screwed and had to fight for what i paid for.
but either way those of you saying about digital goods thats lame and outright incorrect ive had 2 such instances of this from seperate companies both times ive been paid back just use your brain when you file with paypal be factual and explain you would be happy with meeting half way but you doubt it will occur as they are not in contact with you (for any hypothetical transaction of the future be it ebay or otherwise)
as for the ban situation yes my open beta was shut down thats fine however there only too pleased to sell me zen in sto still.. so cc being banned isnt true either as i use same paypal details...doing so is unlawful and would open them up to legal issues.
The thing is anyone who started a chargeback got instantly banned so I'd assume most of them aren't here but I had 2 accounts one for NWO and then an old PWE account. I did my chargeback through Paypal, escalated it myself after 24 hours of PWE not responding and 24 hours of Paypal not responding I contacted my bank that my Paypal is attached too and said I've been a victim of fraud, I paid for items NWO allowed others to get in much larger supply for free, The product was not as described (In a state meriting a non-wipe clause) and I merely paid them money to test a product like a guinea pig. My bank said no problem, come in sign this paper and we'll put the money back in the account in 24 hours. I said thanks and obliged.
You said that in your first sentence, the second sentence was inflammatory and unnecessary.
In the second sentence, he shared the information about refunds specifically for folks in Great Britain. It was no more inflammatory than the first sentence, and added new information. So, wrong on both counts.
As for all that PWE chargeback threat talk... PLEASE SUE ME! Oh the monies... If this HAMSTER company pursued a lawsuit against anyone they'd lose so easy... I'm actually shocked a MOD was allowed to say some HAMSTER stuff on chargebacks.

It could also be that they're inundated with such requests at the moment and have a backlog to go through. They probably are allowed a grace period from the card company before the books are closed on this matter. Count ye not yer chickens afore they be 'atched.
I am having a hard time to understand this. For all the people who have replied saying they did claim money back by paypall. eh?
I am asking as one of my friends in the Uk is trying to get money back on founders pack. Paid by paypall and when they rang paypall were told in no uncertain terms- impossible read your t+C FROM PAYPALL. NEVER ever protect against online goods.
They then rang their cc company (again in uk) and was told by visa that in no uncertain terms wait 30days for company to reply (lol right?) and even then most likely would not receive anything as it is online non tangible goods and if yes, they would not be prepared for full refund as some items were received.
so again I ask you..... Eh? how on earth are you saying you did it when I heard on loudspeaker my friend 100% turned down. Are you just lying?
not at all, this is why I am persuing this to find out what on earth I am missing. If I am just being stupid, let me know. I would love to say im wrong about this if I am
indeedy I understand that about bans and I am not going to chargeback myself. I am simply struggling to understand how on earth it is done when paypall say no 100% and I have heard that myself. that's in the uk
And visa is saying allow 30days and probably not even then as it is untangible goods. Someone help!

I'm a Brit, and I've opened several disputes in the past through paypal of which 3 of which have had Paypal's intervention (all of those 3 were for digital goods, two for games from stores that failed to provide either a complete product (as advertised) and one for a founders pack on a now dead MMO). As long as you have a valid reason for a refund, and appropriate documentation to put forth your case then PP/Banks tend to side with the consumer.
Though I've said this before however in other threads; before anyone considers conducting a chargeback or dispute through Paypal/Debit card ALWAYS do your best to get ahold of PWE first. Not only does it help your case should you need to escalate it, but it also gives PWE a chance to resolve the situation amicably.
