So i just hit 60 as cleric. Had enough glory to buy 2 pieces of the pvp set. Went to pvp. Played several games. Exited the pvp. Almost deleted the game.
What the actual ****. So at level 60 it seems aside the perma stunlocks, one of the most broken classes in the game can now actually deal damage as higher as the rogue and burst down people in seconds.
Well **** -.-
i always thought that when the cash shop rolls in, it's the unofficial release mark - the makr when things are actually "getting serious". But all this.. just.. it's way too wrong.. for a beta or not
Getting the full set helps, getting decent enchantments help too. Each class has a win button or at least a win with encounter rotation button except for clerics. As was said dailies are strong, but I like it because it adds a bit of randomness to fights not knowing if your enemy has the daily up or not.

If you did not invest the glory into a full PVp set by the time you hit 60, then basically asked to get your butt handed to you. You cannot even compete without being on par with people with full epic sets. You. Cannot. Compete. Get your PVp set and I promise things will be different.

The thing is, you are 2-3 weeks behind the curve, and the PvP gear is relatively weak compared to T2+ equipment, so even if some of the skills had been re-balanced yet, you would experience the same. It's "normal" for PvP at max level in gear-focused MMOs. If you hit the max level in That Other MMO, and you have two PvP pieces, the majority of your opponents will flatten you within seconds.
That said, damage in PvP at 60 is pretty over the top at the moment. Yes, a CW can kill you quickly, and he is killed quickly by everyone else. The Time-To-Kill at max level PvP is currently too high and that is probably one of the things they will address when they do balancing. They talked about it in their State of the Game article. Trying to kill a geared Cleric who stands in AS is pretty difficult, by the way, for most classes. If there are two Clerics, you can just walk away. A Cleric can have more impact on the outcome of a match than a CW. You need gear, though, but every class does.
So, even as a primarily CW player, I do most of my PvP with lower level alts. 30-39 is a fairly good bracket, I feel.
they really need to nerf the **** out of CW either they do dmg or they control they cannot do both at same time this is WoW fost mages all over again, if this doesn't get fixed i'm out
CW is the most annoying opponent in PvP currently, as they have all the important tricks (dodge, control, range, damage) with relatively little bad stuff to balance it out. I'd tend to agree CW is bit too good, but then again, I have not played it myself and can often kill CW in duel with my GWF, so can't really make serious complain.
But personally I like PvP combat that is deadly, makes timing and suprises that much more important.
PvP @ 60 just is not much fun for a cleric.... Or at least it wasn't for me. I cannot really kill anybody, though with some good timing I can smack them around pretty well or finish someone off. My guild just doesn't have a ton of lvl 60's yet, so I have to PuG which is just dirty. But... For a CW we are a joke, just look at the 'guide to PvP' in the library section of the forums. "Kill clerics first because they are at best annoying and generally easy prey."
Even overlapping astral shields is a joke against well geared lvl 60 players. 'Oh you put up your fancy shields, let me crush that for you!' CW's using double enfeeble and ice knife will walk all over you double shielded or not.
Then you have the stupid PuG people who complain that you aren't healing them, even though everytime you get near the fight you A) die first and they don't stand in the heals anyways (either FF or AS). Then they kick you as a 'worthless healer' in a game where you aren't even a primary healer...
PvP as a cleric is just not fun without the very top tier gear and even then I cannot imagine 'fun' as a description of it.

lol behind the curve. pvp barely increases your health survival. it give everyone the same few 1000 health. it doesn't have pvp defense. even fresh 60's cw and rogues in blue do similiar damage.
and for the cry ohh its open beta. in rift when i was 2 hitting people in open beta they disabled the talent 12 hours later.

There will be plenty of balancing and changes in the immediate future of the game. That's the purpose of the Beta.

My cleric just hit 60, got a purple weapon to update my damage and now I can go around one shotting people with my hammer daily.
Super fun.. z.z
They're about to release a ranger class without fixing the current classes making this game a joke.
