Suggestion: Don't open the AH tonight

Simple really. Reason is because there's apparently another exploit (or couple) which is currently being used to amass T2 gear. Additional optional suggestion: Do another extended maintenance so you can trace said people/gear. I might be only speaking for myself, but I do believe that given that the devs likely already know what exploit this is (or if you do not know, just ask some of the forum members, who apparently do) taking the time to nail this exploit before reopening the AH would be a good idea.

As much as it is a good idea for them not to open it, how are they going to separate everyone who's stocked on T2 gear via legit means and exploited their stockpile? Seeing as it's been off for a few days some people could have legitimately stocked quite a bit.
Common sense is hard to come by around here it seems..

Those who stockpiled T2 legitimately wouldn't be significantly negatively affected. There is no hint of the AH reopening tonight other than some random forum mod comments, but I'm inclined that it just might hold some weight. But they did say that they needed the AH to be down until they've fixed the exploits, and since there is another exploit which may affect the economy, they may as well keep it down until they fix this exploit too.

Though regardless when it opens the market will be flooded with large amounts of T2, that'll clear up long term but yeah they're going to have to get on it in the patch coming, hopefully.

That... or as suggested simply don't open up the AH until they clear the mess up. They have no obligation to do so at this point.

Check your PM inbox and then also wonder whether or not they should even open the AH within the next few weeks. =p

There is apparently another GF infinite damage exploit and an exploit which allows you to rapidly clear at least one of the T2 dungeons.

Given the number of exploits in the wild right now, maybe opening the AH is the lesser of two evils for them? A lot of the exploits stem from facepalm-inducingly poor decisions, and if they know that they aren't competent to fix them in a reasonable time frame, maybe a basket case AH is better than none? It's not like they can fix the economy, either. Redefining success/moving the goalposts might be their only option, pragmatically.

i don't get it. I thought Cryptic had 10 years of developing experience. But they seem to be a bunch of screw ups. I guess it is 10 years of money harvesting experience then,

simply remove the AH and zen market from the game, i am not using it anywayz
That should cover all exploits imo?... :):)

All jokes aside, i agree keep it down as long as it takes, and cant they trace combat logs? "u deal 10000000000000000 damage with X attack" should be noticable? if it is related to something like that... if they have the info and the logs they could create a search code to pick out the unataineble dps right?...(like calculate max dps based on gear etc then filter out the once that top it?)

Edit : also i think they should have 1 guy working 24/7 on adding invisible walls to all dungeons and cliffs that would fix a lot of the item influx into the economy, in my eyes tossing all mobs is also an exploit, together with skipping rooms etc, and both could easily be fixed
(i look at you "invisible wall" in my foundry wall list  )

It has NOTHING to do with GF sets. It has everything to do with the GF itself and the client. Either they remove the client, or they remove the GF.

This, catching the DD event, and running 2 or so dungeons during each event you can net a good bit of gear between drops and chests legitimately. People are beginning to stockpile just from that, and there isn't much that Cryptic/PWE can do, unless they want to take the entire game down for awhile, to prevent the AH from being blasted with stocked up items the second it comes back online.

Seriously start making dungeon gear BoP to stop all the greedy HAMSTER and to stop exploiters from selling their HAMSTER.

Yes, let's keep the AH closed indefinitely so that others cannot work on their professions without complication, or find a piece of gear without issues, or lo and behold, offload the JUNK piling up in their bags that they would like to sell on the AH..

Seriously, you people never stop, do you? Stop whining. Really.. Sit back and look at what you type day in and out and think.. "Could I read this HAMSTER all day?"

The entire point of Open Beta is to test for game bugs, imbalances, etc... So why would you not turn on features you want tested before Neverwinter is released? /shrug

Relax people it is still in beta for a reason and complaining won't do any good, but suggestions will. Yes, the exploits are really killing the game but I think they get the message now. The maintenance is only estimated to last 90 minutes so don't expect anything big. For those who actually farm for gear legitimately and don't pay2win or exploit I congratulate you for actually playing a game as it should be, the entertaining way.
