Hey everyone, I'm about 70% done with a quest I'm making and I'm already starting to think about taking screens and/or videos for when I publish it. I've been looking through the foundry screenshot of the week thread and I've seen a lot of really nice screens and I was just wondering if there's an easy way to navigate your quest and take screens.
I'd love to be able to just go all noclip and float around my maps and take screens but I haven't discovered if that's possible. Any tips or pointers for getting some nice media?

Demo Recording, AKA how to make awesome videos/screenshots
Hey everybody!
One of the very cool features of Neverwinter is the ability to record pretty much anything in-game, and then re-open the client and tinker with the demo that you've created. It's easy, it's streamlined, and it all works within the sparkly game client. Here are some tips for how it works!
First off, start playing the game, and hit "/demo_record abc" in the chat channel when you're ready to start filming, where "abc" is the name you'd like to give your demo record file. Then do cool stuff, and when you're done, type /demo_record_stop. Quit the game.
Re-open the launcher, and click the "Options" button in the top-right hand corner. In the "Advanced command line" field, type the following, where "abc" is the name you've given to your demo record file:
-demo_play abc.demo
Press "OK" and launch into Neverwinter on the same server on which you recorded the demo.
Now, you'll be in a sparkly demo play client, within which you can tinker with a number of commands. Here are a few:
Press F2 to detach the camera from your character, and roam around with WASDQZ. Press F2 again to return the camera to your character.
Hit ` (tilde) to bring up the console.
Type "renderscale x" where "x" is the number you'd like to increase the resolution to. 1 is normal, and 2 is spectacular.
Type "visscale x" where "x" is the value you'd like to increase the draw distance to.
Type "fov x" where "x" is the number you'd like to change the field of view to. 55 is the default.
Type "time x" where "x" is a number between 1-24 to change the environment game time.
Type "screenshot" to take a screenshot. These will show up in your "screenshots" folder.
Hit ` (tilde) again to close the console.
Some community tips:
-Take a look at this post for someguywhoplaysgames' instructions on getting into demoplay without using the launcher, and on making screenshots easier to take.
-All black screenshots? Try setting your DirectX to DirectX9 if you are currently using DX11 Beta, particularly if you're trying to take screenshots at Renderscale > 1.
That's it! Now you've got some awesome videos and screens to share.
Many thanks to someguywhoplaysgames and the Champions Online community for this guide, which provided the basis for these instructions.
And, DISCLAIMER: demo record/play is a nifty tool that you're welcome to use to create amazing screenshots to share with your co-adventurers. Please note, however, that we cannot provide any support or troubleshooting for the demo record/play tool.
We'll be updating this post periodically, so if you have more suggestions or cool ways to use the demo record feature, please chime in!
Wow this sounds exactly like what I was looking for! Thanks, I'll be sure to try this out.,

I STILL haven't tried it out and I am super excited about it We used it all the time in Shadowbane to wander around a battle and go see what was going on after the fact. I keep forgetting to record a PVP match and then go see what my teammates were doing.
edit: Of course if they would make a mini UI for it... I think it would be HUGE.
IE Press record button and type in name.

Hmm. I've tried several different ways of taking screenshots, this included, and all I get is a giant black image. Was really excited to mess around with this, too. Oh well.
EDIT: Nevermind. It was the DirectX thing. I apparently can't read. My bad.

The giant black image is usually Windoze telling you "no," but I haven't had that problem with Neverwinter or the Foundry. I just hit the PrintScreen key, paste it into Gimp, and edit from there. For videos, I use the paid version of Fraps, which is pretty good, and then just Windoze Live Movie Maker to edit and upload. For audio, I use Audacity.
For videos I just used Fraps, hide the camera paths I made and then in a video editor I cropped out the menu bars.
Print screen always worked for me in terms of screenshots as well.
