Great news adventurer type people! You don't need a Facebook account in order to participate (you do need to be a resident of the United States, however).
Simply go to the page linked above, and then click on the link for the sweepstakes. It will take you to another Facebook page, but the sweepstakes entry application is actually embedded into Facebook by a third party. You don't need to be signed into Facebook in order to fill it out. It's just going to ask you for your name, email address and zip code.
At the very end, a Facebook error will pop up, but that is just to let you know you can't share the sweepstakes with your friends if you're not signed in. By that point you will already be signed up for the sweepstakes though!
Good luck and don't forget to invoke your deity before signing up!

Don't do it. Don't promote US-only sweepstakes without clarification.
It's extremely depressing having to go through all this "beta-but-we-take-your-money" and, at the same time, being mocked for not being American, and being excluded from so-called sweepstakes because we don't live there.
The rest of the world does exist. If you can take my money, you can give my virtual prizes too.
Neverwinter allows me to play from my country. Perfect World accepts my credit card and gladly takes my money. Then let me get into those sweepstakes too.
Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.

^ This.
Quite typical of American companies though, I used to play a First Person Shooter and only American teams were allowed to win the competition leagues. Non US teams could pay to enter, and may even rank higher than US teams, but only a US ream was allowed to win.
The rest of the world does exist. If you can take my money, you can give my virtual prizes too.
Amusingly, PWE can't take my money. As they only deal in Euros, and that's far far far more hassle for me to deal with than its worth. Its already stopped me buying several items on here and STO.
Don't do it. Don't promote US-only sweepstakes without clarification.
What did you expect from them really?
They have downtimes at times for THEIR convenience only (cutting mainly into non-US players time)
There isn't even an option for 24 hour clock in game which is the norm in most of the world
All in all very US-centric company it seems.
Neverwinter Online Open Beta is an ongoing success
To be fair, there's also the legislation and etc involved. Making a competition international also means it has to comply with every country's laws, which is often way too much hassle.

Don't blame Perfect World, for this, anyway, It's WotC all the way.
And several of the items are physical items, and they value the pack at about $250 bucks.

According to the rules linked by this promo, this is false.
Who is Eligible: The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least thirteen (13) years old at the time of entry. You also must have a Facebook account and “like” the official Dungeons & Dragons Facebook page in order to participate in the Sweepstakes.

Prize Information and Approximate Retail Value: Five (5) winners will be awarded a prize pack consisting of the following:
Neverwinter Saga audiobooks from Audible ($109.80 total)
o Gauntlgrym ($24.95)
o Neverwinter ($24.95)
o Charon’s Claw ($29.95)
o The Last Threshold ($29.95)
Neverwinter Nights (Diamond) on GOG.com ($9.99)
Neverwinter Nights 2 (Complete) on GOG.com ($19.99)
Neverwinter Campaign Setting ($39.95)
Legend of Drizzt Board Game ($64.99)
Code for the new Neverwinter MMO that gives an in-game bandana fashion item and an offensive consumables bundle ($10.00)
Ugh. Some people find their privacy a little too important than to go on using Facebook.
It's unfortunate when companies rely on that platform for their social interaction.
Fortunately, WoC offices are three minutes from my own. I should go over there and knock them over the head for this.
To be fair, there's also the legislation and etc involved. Making a competition international also means it has to comply with every country's laws, which is often way too much hassle.
That's a fairly common excuse, but it's not the case. There are no "legislation" laws against virtual sweepstakes. It could be if the prize was something physic, like a box or artbook, but it's not the case.
I'm able to participate in giveaways such as Alienware's and Logitech's for Neverwinter... it's the same. The prize is a code, guys.

That changes things, then. Anyway they should have announced it before... I went straight in to participate, and it's a bummer.

Where the hell do they come up with this stuff.... If you so scared of letting someone other than an american win, the answer is simple....duplicate the prizes for gods sake, its not like they even cost you anything is it? or are you giving away a Car...? a House? thats in America? LoL
oh and if there are actual phisical prizes you just have to say for European winners a vitual alternative will be substituted.. ta dahhh

Chinese here.
The main reasons US base company only allow US resident to win is because of Tax reasons, not because they hate other countries.

seems to be the case of the 330m > 7 billion...
At least make it CLEAR UPFRONT in the title that it's limited to a tiny portion of the population of the world!
To be fair, there's also the legislation and etc involved. Making a competition international also means it has to comply with every country's laws, which is often way too much hassle.
Turbine has competitions, and Lotteries that award items from the In-Game Store (and so are items that can be bought with real money) running that are open to all players regardless of their location.
The fact that PW/WOTC don't show just how little they care about players based outside of the US.
Its too much effort for them to treat us all equally.

It actually has to do with laws regarding raffles and the like across borders. It's not about slighting other countries. I'm Canadian, and it sucks that I can't participate, but laws is laws when it comes to large companies.
That's a fairly common excuse, but it's not the case. There are no "legislation" laws against virtual sweepstakes. It could be if the prize was something physic, like a box or artbook, but it's not the case.
Wrong answer. There are physical items involved.
Neverwinter Campaign Setting ($39.95)
Legend of Drizzt Board Game ($64.99)
Code for the new Neverwinter MMO that gives an in-game bandana fashion item and an offensive consumables bundle ($10.00)
Those two items are not digital or virtual but physical items from WoTC. So that is the primary reasoning for no international entries.
Foundry Designs: Once a Dungeon Master, always a Dungeon Master.

Read this all the time, but you might be surprised how similar, if not exactly the same, most competition laws are among countries. In the UK for example, sweepstakes are fine (i.e. need no governing) as long as a question of 'skill' is involved and no payment occurs...sounds exactly like what we have here, wouldn't you say? Let me repeat that for you - no laws involved/no governance required.
Now gambling on the other hand - games of chance where money exchanges hands - is governed by law and these may well differ between countries and even between US states and frankly I haven't ever seen a freemium game cash shop that doesn't offer gambling boxes for real hard cash. So do excuse me while I chuckle at the 'too much hassle' argument.

Actually any item that has a value, whether it's a service, virtual, or physical can and often is taxed. Some countries especially in Europe put a high amount of tax on the items and that tax has to be paid even if the winner isn't from that country. Quebec requires all sweepstakes and their prizes to be in English and French which exludes them from a lot of sweepstakes involving in-game rewards and in some cases just rules Canada out entirely. Even in the US sometimes certain states are exempt due to state laws about gambling, swweepstakes, raffles, and give-aways. It does suck for the non-US players but the legal and financial hurdles often blocks such offers from being international.
