Launcher Problem???

When I click on the game client and then put in the password it loads up but then instead of opening and seeing the big CRYPTIC load screen and then going to the game it somehow goes to the task bar on the bottom of the screen and when i click on it to try and make it full screen (or any screen) it doesnt do anything but when i hover over the game client on the task bar i can see the character select screen but cant do anything to make it full or small screen.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or is this a pw/cryptic problem??
