How do I make an objective disappear?

There is an NPC who is involved in multiple objectives for dialog. At the end of the quest, I want to make him an encounter that you fight. I've been able to spawn in an encounter NPC that looks just like him, and have that encounter appear when the correct objective is in progress, but I can't make the original NPC disappear. My only option in the drop-down box for "Disappear" is "This Objective Complete", and it doesn't specify which objective.

How can I make this NPC disappear at the last story objective only so that his encounter duplicate can be fought?

The Foundry does not allow you to arbitrarily hide any NPC or object referenced by the Story layout, so "disappear when: this objective complete" means you can only hide that NPC when the objective he is linked to in the Story tab is finished.

In order to make him disappear you either have to re-adjust your story flow so that he is not directly listed as an objective, or you have to do something like make a Dialogue objective for this NPC, set him to disappear when "this objective complete" so that he will disappear after talking to him, and then set your encounter to spawn when that Dialogue objective is complete.
