Is there any way to trade gold to yourself without having to have a middle man to help you? I'm on two different servers on two different characters but need to take the gold from my old cleric, and give it to my new main rogue. Thanks.

As far as I know, you can't transfer gold from one server to another. I may be wrong, but that has always been the case in other MMOs. And a middle-man? What, do you have a hawaladar in Neverwinter? o.O

What's a hawaladar? And that sucks. Only other MMO I've played is DCUO and then you only have a PvE and PvP server. Everything is transferable between characters via the bank, though.

No. You can't transfer anything (except AD through the exchange) between shards.

    What's a hawaladar?

A Hawaladar is a rich man with a lot of friends. In parts of the world, they are like banks. Allow me to exemplify:

Say I'm travelling to the UAE. I have one hundred thousand USD, and I want to invest in some businesses in the UAE.

I call my friend Mohammed. He lives in the 'states, but grew up in the UAE. He's got family ties all over, he's kept in touch with all the relatives, and he knows lots of friends of the family that he plays online poker with or whatever. So I tell Mohammed, "I've got this hundred thousand USD I'ma give you. Can you provide equivalent exchange when I land in the UAE?" Mohammed says to me, "Let me talk to this guy."

He calls up Akmed. Tells Akmed my situation, says, "This hundred thousand USD? It's yours, man. Just give me friend about the same value in dirham when he gets there, aight? Peace, bro - I'll see you at pokerstars on Friday."

I leave my USD, fly to UAE, pick up my Dirham from Akmed. The deal is done. My part is finished.

NOW what happens is that Mohammed never sends that money to Akmed. He holds on to it. Some time in the future, Akmed will call HIM and say, "I got this dude here with a bunch of dirham he gave me, mind cashing him out in USD State-side?" The two might NEVER end up actually physically sending money across international lines, but rather holding on to it. They trust each other. If one of them really needs his money sent over, it gets sent. But for the most part, it just balances out over time.

Akmed and Mohammed are Hawaladar. A Hawala is a sort of banking business.
