Eventually allowing a suburb sized area with appartments and allowing senior members able to use space to build their own houses. would be a great way to grow with the game/guild, a great way to build a strong bonding within ones guildmates. I like the idea.
Zalinto wrote:I voted "well kinda" but I would actually rather see a more standardized version of guild halls and housing.
I like to look at my housing as more of a collection game. I like to show off all the trophies I got in game and how I managed to decorate the house given the limited housing tools. With foundry I imagine there will be too many undeserved floating castle guild halls with dragon gate guards for a guild of 5. That just feels undeserved and out of place. So, I'm more for STANDARD housing and guild halls.
HOWEVER, if they managed to set you up with a "TEMPLATE" map that you could modify in foundry ever so slightly then that would be fine with me.
Argantis wrote:It seems like a neat idea and I could care less what people put on their private maps as long as they limit the resources. The last thing I want is a bunch of hoarders in the game causing lag like UP used to be. The resources on the server must be limited.
Furthermore the resource count should be limited based on the number of players in the guild. Rather than making a flat amount of resources based on guild size it should instead be based on contributions to the community. Something like the Renown system in DDO, however with no decay. I see no reason to ever take the what have you done for me lately approach to a game. If a guild earned 1 million Renown in the first year of the game, they should have 1 million renown if they leave for 3 years and come back. All that need be done is to put the unused guild halls into storage and make returning members pay game gold to get them out, or make them pay game gold to keep them current, however you want to look at it. Similar to LotRO housing.
Renown could be earned by many things. Anytime you earn XP or Glory, any time you earn coin, any time you earn AD from the game, not other players, any time you get good ratings on your foundry missions. I also do believe that the renown should live with the player not the guild. The guild is only a sum of the players. If a guild loses a high renown player then they should take their renown with them. After all they are the ones that earned it, it is theirs. It may suck for some guilds to lose players in this manner, but it is a fair system, and guilds who cannot keep their membership happy should indeed pay the consequences.
Obviously there needs to be a hard cap somewhere on total assets or resources allowed in a guild hall, regardless of how awesome the players in the guild are.
Jetah wrote:I love how Forsaken World did their guild bases. The only aspect I hate is the constant need to do dailies for the guild gold (gold bound directly to the guild).
FW has Guild Base that you put a bid on. Location could determine initial bid price. After you won the bid you were given a basic Base. The base itself was phased, in a different part of the game world. You could do some Guild Dailies that would give you something similar to reputation. Once you reached enough, you could upgrade to Base Rank I. This cost Leaves (Zen) and Gold (AD) and some time. After your Base R1 was opened you had different upgrades you could buy (needing to do more dailies). Upgrades included, Profession NPC's with recipes, Companion Trainers, Inn (for EXP Bonuses), Mini worlds with last tier gatherables (one for Mining, one for herbalism).
Guild Bases also allowed player to do Trade Runs between other Guild Bases. Each Guild Leader could place a tax upon entering.
Some changes would need to happen to make it fit Neverwinter.
Personally the Dailies should be changed to weeklies.
Hi everyone.
I've actually spent a bit of time and put together a custom guild hall, before I even knew this thread existed, I had planned on creating it myself once I'd finished a few hall archetypes. I put a lot of thought into this, so hopefully you all like it.

Great idea! If this gets some positive feedback, I'll be sure to add it in!

It is a great idea, please don't let it sink!
The Foundry
Well, if it's the wrong place, any mod is free to move it
Thanks! Please support it later on too!
Yes. That's what I meant.
I liked how you could build it (upgrade it) by adding areas/rooms/ etc.
I liked how other guilds could enter the bases.
I liked how you could do quests inside the base as well as training certain things (fishing/alchemy/etc.)
I dislike the maintenance and upkeeping. A guild base once purchased should be permanent unless it is SOLD or TRADED to another guild for another base location.
Guild bases/houses/cast;es/halls would fit perfectly in NeverWinger and are needed to spice up the motivation to create and to join Guilds.
