In an open beta, you don't ban, you fix your game. I get Guild Wars, as it was after launch and the developers had missed something vital, leading to unintended economy. But Neverwinter is open beta. A process which should be focused on fixing errors, for launch. No matter how f****d the economy is, you fix it and do a character wipe before launch. But f*****g over your beta testers!? Come on, they are there to test and correct the game..

Just quote from ytube,

regards

Well in Guild Wars case, there wasn't a $200 pack you could buy to get a headstart on the F2Pers... They can't just wipe characters, or they would have no more customers. I don't believe you understand the magnitude of the situation.

There is a difference between testing and exploiting, and outright abuse. Using a bug to make infinite AD to buy cats to give to others is outright abuse, as it represents a more or less intentional effort to ruin the game. Using the infinite damage bug to quickly defeat bosses to farm gear is exploiting, at least up to the point where you start sharing with others, where it falls into outright abuse. Trying different methods to use a bug, seeing what works, what doesn't, and keeping it to yourself and support (unless assistance is needed to test, and then only on a case by case basis) is testing.

Beta testing is just that... testing the system. And all agreed beforehand to follow proper procedure. That is to find a bug.. report it..move on to the next bug. To take advantage of these bugs to the point of forcing the game managers to shutdown something is abuse, plain and simple. An exploit is just that. Don't confuse it for testing. No one is buying that argument.

More exploiters whining about bans. Tell me something new =)
Here's a revelation...people can get banned in a Live game. Yep, that's right, you didn't hear me wrong, it's entirely possible.

Exactly this..for the last 7-8 years in MMO's players see 'open beta' as 'free time'. They don't report bugs, they abuse them. they aren't beta testing..so why keep their accounts on the beta open?
So if you wish to make the case about open beta being used wrong. First fix the problem of the players (the majority I'd assume) not reporting a single bug they see. just complaining about the bug in chat and how the games "broken".
