How to: Voluntary total wipe and zen refund!

Create a fourth server, and block character creation to only accounts with special permission for one week.

Give every account an option to implement a voluntary account wipe and zen refund.
This would then give them the special permission to role new characters on the new server.
This new server would be completely free of the exploits effects.

This would effectively give everyone the option to take a total wipe instead of your proposed measures,
should they choose too.

Or.... just make a new server without all this nonsense, which would have the same effect.

It wouldn't have the same effect if you spent money in the cash shop.

Grrr...after being a forum admin elsewhere I was looking everywhere for the edit button. You have a great idea, but to be honest, your complete failure at the English language is going to cause issues with your point coming across concise. I would strongly advise the below corrections be implemented.
"
Voluntary total wipe and Zen Refund Idea:
If you were to create a fourth server with a separate economy set back to launch, blocking character creation to only accounts created before this issue, it would give those that opted in the ability to roll new characters, voiding previous transactions to their Zen Wallet/Claimed Items and auto-purging their characters on the previous server. They would lose the time they spent on the previous server, but at least you would have a fresh economy. I am concerned that whatever procedure you have planned for this will not fix the long term issue, and more than a few have concerns that they have a character with so many financial entanglements to a server that has a serious economic issue.
"

The above is far from flawless, but I fear your original post is just going to get lambasted for errors instead of acknowledged for it's valid idea.

BTW English isn't only my primary language, it's my only language.
That being said, I've always been more of an idea guy then ... uh .. person who writes stuff guy.

All of this nonsense is nothing more than created hysteria from uninformed players over reacting about stuff that truly has no permanent or meaningful impact on anything.

Just a giant over reaction over a imaginary things in a game full of imaginary stuff and imaginary characters. With an imaginary market place with imaginary money and imaginary armor.

Everyone has lost their dang mind!

People are so obsessed with what they thunk happened and how they think someone may have gotten something they have not gotten or got away with something they don't condone.

This is ridiculous and we the players, freaking out and crying over every single little thing in full internet nerd rage have cause more damage to this game than any of the exploits or issues possibly could have.

1.) I feel a great swell of pity for whatever forum you were an admin of.

2.) Your post had no less than 4 grammatical errors. I'm not counting the "correction" you suggested either.

3.) Stop being a tool.

Yes, It was an imaginary non technical emergency server shut down for 6+ hours, during the prime weekend gaming hours.
Clearly the uneducated masses have lost there minds.

Except that the Devs have already stated that they have built the game with the intention and ability to merge the servers to one big server at a later date (one reason you can't have the same guild name on each server). So.. it would ultimately be a pointless measure as they are all going to be one eventually.

True.
But whatever fix they are going implement now faces that very same issue.
This has more to do with giving the player base options, instead of force feeding solutions that only, at best, half of them will prefer.

It is sadly often the case that overreaction is more harmful than what is being reacted to. An excellent case is cited in Freakonomics, where it is observed that the American reaction to a failed bombing that directly harmed no one costs the equivalent of fourteen human lives every year. But humans are very loss-averse. So it goes.

This "new-server" will not be protected by future bugs/exploits. At this current point in time creating a new server will do nothing, as they are going to merge all 3 servers into one in the near future anyways.

There will be more major bugs and exploits soon to come. Maybe not as big as the -AD we seen today but just as equally bad.

Congrats for proving his point or are you really that dumb?

People overreact and servers go down. (Funny also how everybody blame the exploiters but no one blames Cryptic/PW for reusing their flawed code which led to the same exploit in STO...)

I wish people would be smart enough to try to understand what other people mean instead of posting their bull**** all over the internet.

Seriously, people need to calm the **** down with their rollbacks and wipes. With all the AD sinks in the game right now, and how ****ing greedy PW is, all that dupe AD would be gone within a week. The only people truly suffering from that AD dupe were not the players but PW and Cryptic for having cheap Zen possibly flooding the market and making it decent and affordable to buy Respec tokens (6$), Bags (6 and 10$), Bank space (6$ for 16 slots? Lol?), Character slots (What was it? 2 or 4$ for two characters?), Profession Assets (16$ L.m.f.a.o.) and wards (10$). All of which are still overpriced for how important they are. Seriously, why is it cheaper to buy an Alteration token or new Character slots then Respec token, Bank space and bag space? How come I cannot get Bags or Assets through any other means? Oh right... People might not get new characters or Alteration but everybody needs to respec or get more storage space. As for Assets and Crafting? Why not make it P2W, LOL! The devs of this game are the most unscrupulous I have ever seen and if I had known about that AD exploit, you can bet I'd have done it. Not because it would be even that useful to me for this game that's going to die a month after "release" but just to **** on their face for being such money *****s.

Good Job devs for still being greedy little HAMSTER.

I find it Ironic that you think I'm dumb, when your first course of action is name calling. Which is then quickly followed up by an angry profanity riddled rant.

So.... My only response I guess can be:

NUT UH!! YOUR DUMB!!!!

And once again, you miss the point entirely so I'll also respond with :

But I guess you won't think about it anyways.

The truth of the matter is that his post is just as absurd as the posts claiming this is serious enough to freak out over.

This isn't at the "Oh my god, the sky is falling" level.
Just like it's not at the "Calm down, nothing to see here." level

It's actually somewhere in between.

It's not serious enough to garner wide spread panic, or heavy handed measures.
But it is serious enough that it needs to be addressed and discussed.
And intelligent options to rectify the problem so we can move on.

P.S.
And I believe the response you were looking for is..
NO WAY! YOU ARE, INFINITY!

Problem is, the zen that was instantly bought up can just be transferred to a new shard. So it wouldn't be entirely free of the consequences.

*edit- as it binds to account not character so having your characters wiped wouldn't delete your zen.

To your post I say.... Yes this is a imaginary game with Imaginary items but....Its not just a IMAGINARY ECONOMY some of us put real money in the game and are upset that someone would take the time to scam a FREE MMORPG. I Like this game better than DDO and I've played that one in Beta and Alpha. My Suggestion is to do a complete wipe of the server and PWI can look at there records to see who has put real funds into the game and refund that or add it to the account when they log in. As for adding a 4th server that may be a good option for the reason if you add the 4th Server and do the Special add if you ask for the Wipe and have your account credited on the 4th server (Mind you only if you have put REAL MONEY in the game should it be returned)and start a new. I hate it when people think they have the right to mess with something that isn't theirs. I know all our hard work will be for not but at least we will have a clean server and a fresh start for all of us who follow the rules!!
