No, we were specifically told no wipe after open beta. Shows how much you know.
it doesnt matter if you show these kind of people FACTs that they are wrong, they will keep spitting nonsense just because they think they are correct...
And losing half their players who dont trust the company who promised no wipes and invested their time is a great idea for a game in beta? who is going to want to start playing this game with a terrible community number? wipe the servers lose the game
As opposed to wither and die on the vine as potential new players turn to other options when they realize the economy is beyond gone from exploits months in the past.
Anyone whos been with PWE for a while would know they would never do a wipe at this point.
Any STO players here? Remember this same issue happening in STO.... How was this allowed into the game after that big ordeal in STO over this SAME issue at hand....
Yep, and i see a lot of similar problems that STO faced in here. Like the queueing system? lol It will take time to fix...
Of course it wouldn't. It's counterfeit money, that money was not in circulation. It never influenced them in the first place. it was nothing besides monopoly money.
The argument i used is if they ban the players who have ridiculous sums of cash they should be fine. There is no real response to my argument here.
That is also just buyer/seller confidence. people think their money is worth less, they buy things at an elevated price in order to make sure it's worth it.
The counterfeit money would be in circulation actually, that's the point of counterfeiting money. He's spending it in this hypothetical. And inflation is not caused by buyer/seller confidence. Inflation is caused by influxes in currency. Gum used to cost 1cent, now it's 25+. That isn't because the buyer is less confident in their money, it's caused by there being more money, thus less value to each individual piece of currency.
If they do a roll back, that's not a wipe, and if they wipe all currency. that is not a wipe. All they have said is they would not do is a "FULL WIPE"....
So take that with a grain of salt, and it IS still beta, and people need to read the Terms and Conditions. Which I am willing to bet 90% just click agree and go play.

That's exactly what I said a while ago. They are being very careful to use the word "complete" whenever they talk about wipes. Meaning they can leave characters and remove items. Or do something else and leave some piece of the game intact (names and foundry?) and still be within what they said.

Worst thing about this whole scenario is what it has done to the community. This is supposed to be a D&D based game, where community is solid and sociable. Now let me say that the whole f2p model destroyed that concept initially, but still the idea is what holds the D&D franchise together.
Fast forward to now; this game has barely launched and this community is a toxic cesspool already. The self-entitlement from both sides is immature enough, but now the cheaters want to blatantly mock those who didn't cheat because they know no repercussions are coming.
A sad day for the D&D family nonetheless. This community is a mockery of what D&D is truly about and it's rather sad to see all these childish people who call themselves adults seeking positive reinforcement on a message board.

The counterfeit money most certainly would not be in circulation. What's more suspicious eh? someone who spends that money in day with no job or otherwise? There are certain repercussions, such as the money not matching up with serial numbers. If you've ever used an ATM you'd realize that it doesn't accept money that has a known stolen/counterfeit signature. You're using an example outside of my explaination.
In this situation, say 97% of all exploit money is wiped out (possibly more) the people whom had the money in the first place may or may not see their dollar weaken, But they wouldn't care as it will be a smaller increase. The buyer confidence is more important than you think. Especially in a situation like this. people think that the money is no good, therefore they spend more of it for the same item. Inflation is basically a secondary to this. Why do you think the economy collapsed on black tuesday? Was it because of inflation? Or was it because of people not having faith, and doing bank runs?

Funny thing is... I didn't even know there was an exploit or talk of wipes or anything. I've been playing the game since the very first founder's weekend, and every day since "open beta" started (believe me this "beta" is like GMAIL was in beta). I checked the forums to see why it was down. I'm pretty sure some exploiters exploiting whatever they were doing didn't ruin my fun in this game at all. I leveled up a rogue to 60, and half a control wizard halfway there, too. In both cases I've soloed my way through the levels until the 5 man dungeons at the end of each grouping, where I joined with a bunch of random people, we killed some bad guys and I moved on.
I'm assuming this is how most of us play, or we group with a friend or two, or a bunch of guildmates. Regardless, how has this exploit (whatever it is) interfered with our playing in any way that we need to be wiped from the face of the world?
As for people complaining about people with purple items -- have you checked your stats when going from tier 1 to tier 2 items? +50 more dmg? +.8% lifesteal? etc... Really? This is so over powering?
I feel they could just wipe gear/ad/zen and refund real money, and everybody would be happy and economy would be clean again, also time invested would stay (leveling wise) if u dont like grinding for equipment then hell, what u doing here?...
I agree, IMHO this is the best solution so long as founders/promo items can just be re-collected from the founders vendor, I wouldnt like to lose my PC Gamer mount. I just spent $5 over the weekend for 2 character slots and got my new character leveled wih my friend to 14, so that will kinda irritate me cos I imagine if they refund my zen spent I will lose the character slot & character therein. but oh well.
